If I'm out of line, let me know guys... I've got a buttload of parts lying around right now, including a complete Stroker frame, so I figured this was still in the spirit of the contest.

Here's a "fill it in as I go" shots... barrel assembly is mostly done (still need to drill the transfer port and cut the lug slot).

So.... I sat down this afternoon and sifted through all my boxes to see how many of the parts I had and what I'd need to buy for this build (see above list [I have a problem, apparently]) and got the barrel assembly started.

All the brass for the upper has been cut, sanded down, and fitted together. I'll have to do my cuts later this week or this coming weekend and once I've got the lower tube together I'll trim the barrel to the final length.

This'll be a semi-auto version of my single shot... The plan is to have a dropout slot, side springfeed, lugged sight rail, etc. Should be pretty cool.

It's friggin' freezing outside, Mr. Bigglesworth... so I can't do a lot, but I've managed to get the lower tube sorted and the main body stuck together.

I'm working on getting the sear slot and frame mounting holes in place, and then the ram housing and feedtube will need to be fabricated and soldered on. I'm still working out how I want to do the LPR... I think I have a solution figured out that won't involve hanging it off the side on an elbow, but it may come to that.

          Stay tuned!

EDIT: got the sear slot/grip frame mounting holes in place. I located/drilled a rifle pringle screw mounting hole too, I've got the right parts to do a pirate Squallicane setup if I change my mind on the pistol setup.

I threw on a few more layers of sweaters and got the ram mount finished and soldered on. Still some cleanup to do on it to get the ram in - some solder overflow in one spot is stopping the ram from threading in completely - but we're getting there.

Starting to look like something! Still need to do the feedtube and figure out the LPR, and then do the cosmetic stuff.

Another day with some good progress made... pretty much all the hotwork is done now. I still need to decide on what detent I'm going to use (PPS style or Cocker) and cut a slot in the feedtube for the spring feed follower... I'm going to try to get to that this week sometime.

I couldn't come up with a good way to run a sidesaddle Rock and a side tube and have it not look awkward so I stuck the feed on top... it really resembles a Squall at this point. 🤷‍♂️ I wasn't necessarily going for that, but I suppose there's only so many ways to build a semi-auto Sheridan. 🙂

I had some ideas on integrating the LPR but ultimately it was easier (and from a service point of view, better) to build a mounting boss that a Cocker LPR could thread into. It's offset slightly to allow for a Rock to tuck in, and a 3mm passageway drilled through into the valve chamber to feed it. I'll tap for 6/32 and install a setscrew to plug the access hole once I'm finished modifying the valve.

I used my usual solution to retain the barrel tip... this is a Freak XL compatible chassis, with a total barrel length of roughly 10 inches.

Looks good Jordan, are you still using the 21 mm od tube to build your barrel assembly? I can only find 300 mm length on Amaz in the US site.

It's a combo of Sheridan tube for the breech, 20mm (0.5mm wall) to hold the Freak insert, and 21mm (0.5 mm wall) to sleeve it all together.

I'd use the onlinemetals.com tubing if it was cheaper/easier to get, but shipping is way too expensive to justify most of the time.

Tried to make some more progress tonight... I did get the springfeed slot cut but my detent hole ended up in the wrong spot - too far forward - so I had to patch it and reconsider how I'm going to do it. Pretty sure I'm going to run a wire detent, it's pretty much all I have room for.

I was able to build a version of an Instapierce setup, though... I used a rusty/damaged chamber plug and a CCI pierce pin. A quick mockup gives me hope it will work well with the Quicksilver changer.

I've been debating on doing this for a while. I even bought the tap, just never got around to ordering the pierce pins.

I beadblasted the chassis, mostly as an experiment to see how it would turn out, and did a mockup to make sure everything was where it needed to be.

I've got some more solder cleanup to do, I need to port the chamber sleeve and tap/plug the access hole I drilled into the side tap, and I'll need to install the bolt link and a detent once they arrive in the mail.

              Getting there!

Cal440 there's a blasting cabinet at work with glass beads. That's about all I know. 🙂 We use it on pretty much anything we can fit in the cabinet.

PPS always beadblasted before nickeling - that's where their signature finish comes from - and if I can make this thing function as intended I hope to sweet talk JeeperCreeper into nickel plating it for me.

              Looking great per usual.

We can probably figure out the plating. I've recently got access to a blasting cabinet myself, and I cant wait to try the dust nickel finish.

Got the detent installed tonight - I had an assortment of wire detents lying around but ended up using a Shocktech Cocker wire detent. I ported out the chamber sleeve so the LPR air supply is set now and I can install the plug in the access port I drilled.
