It may have been breed out of them by now. Back then they were super popular in movies and such like the Rottweiler irresponsible breading practices created a lot of health issues in those days. Today people have perfected the science. It’s crazy how fast the dog evolves through selective breeding. -
My girlfriend has a pretty decent size family who all live nearby so we're luckily able to get her a lot of socialization with little effort. She's generally a super laid back puppy.
I'd heard dobermans often have heart issues and sometimes hip issues; hadn't heard about the brain growth one before. -
I love Doberman’s my Dad had a beautiful Red male he rescued from being destroyed. Robber broke into this old lady’s house to rob it. Well the guy ended up in a closet and called 911 he and lost two fingers and almost bled out the dog ate them. The dog was set to be put down the old lady couldn’t keep him and was traumatized by the situation. The dog ended up with my Dad who knew the cop. My Dad was training a lot of K9 back then for various departments. The Dog it was a lil wacky but what a cool dog. He was super smart very obedient but high drive. He ended up passing away from a condition Dobermans get where their brain outgrow their skull at like 6 years old unfortunately. But he got a lot of good years he would not have gotten otherwise. They are beautiful dogs. There’s a guy in my neighborhood where I walk my dog who has a beautiful male. He is not happy to see us when we walk by. -
Loved my dobies, just watch out for the chewing phase. Like a pack of wandering razor blades.
