Brass Eagle EZ CO2 Fill Station

Hey all, I'm new to this forum. I'm not a paint baller, but need some advice on this Brass Eagle EZ CO2 fill station. I bought this at an auction because I wanted the CO2 cylinder and it came with this fill device. I tried to find out some information on it, but could not find much. It seems like a pretty decent device and from what I can tell it works just fine. Is this thing still useful? Is there some reason they don't make them anymore? What's it worth?

These actually were pretty good stations for fields and have some limited use still today. Most of paintball has moved away from CO2 and into HPA (High Pressure Air) but there still are individuals and niche groups that use CO2 regularly. Brass Eagle got consumed by one of the few remaining mega corps in paintball many years ago. I think the name is still used on some products but it is in name only. Someone on here may have a manual or a .pdf of the manual. Given the limited market for this and how cheap basic fill stations are and most people who use CO2 already have fill stations I really doubt this would sell for much more then $30-$50 shipped. It is missing the scale [typically a fish scale) that hangs off the arm to weigh how much CO2 you are adding to the bottle [CO2 fills are based on weight in oz. added to the tare weight of the bottle]. The PVC part is home-brew and I am guessing to hold the bottle upright and still while hanging (not something I would recommend as it could affect the weight on the scale by rubbing on the bottle).

They are pretty simple to use:

• Inspect in good condition
• Pin Handle in the DUMP position
• Attach with seal to CO2 bottle
• Crack open source CO2 bottles valve and verify CO2 comes out the fill port (line)
• Hang Scale from arm
• Unpin Handle
• Inspect bottle to be filled and note bottle fill size in ounces
• Attach bottle to be filled to the fill line (no CO2 should be vented yet)
• Open the bottle to be filled valve (either the valve is also an on off or the ASA connecting the line has to be screwed in to depress the pin on the valve (you need to know your bottles)
• Hang bottle from scale
• Move Handle to DUMP and vent all of the existing CO2 out of the bottle to be filled this can be throttled to minimize noise and bottle swing but the faster you can do this the more the bottle will chill.
• Once bottle is done dumping tare the scale to 0.0
• Move handle to fill and depress the fill valve stem (slowly is best if you slam fill and empty cold bottle you can overfill and potentially burst a rupture disc)
• Watch scale and fill to at or below the rated weight of CO2 for the given bottle and release the handle
• Close the Bottles valve
• Move handle to the dump position and pin it in place. this vents the CO2 out of the line to make removing the bottle safe
• Remove the bottle from the fill line (be careful you can get frostbite if the bottle is too cold)
• Now you are ready to rinse and repeat from the Inspect bottle to be filled step.

That's the muffler to quiet down the vented CO2. I don't know if it was completely homebrew. I remember a few fields/shops that had that exact muffler on their fill stations.

Basically it just has all the bits you need to fill tanks. Typically, fields would just buy assorted brass fittings and link all together.

I only use co2 since my guns can only use co2. But I know it’s disappearing
