So I actually had a related issue, ,my wifi went out yesterday wasn’t even visible, but I had internet on hardwire to TV. I plugged in direct to router and was getting a update firmware message, I did the steps and poof back to good.

Ok, so I found a new "scanner" app that gives more information. I am seeing a huge bell curve of signal that is as strong or stronger than my own signal from channel 3 down below to "-2". It is my understanding that low bands start getting into Bluetooth range?

I have "three" networks I can account for. My 2.4, my 5, and the Xfinity "hotspot" bands that the service router has for others to use. Exactly on top of my previous bands (even set on Automatic) are a couple of hidden SSID networks, and one of them which I am pretty sure is my neighbor, as it's named. The Hidden networks are showing as being 1m from my own network.

EDIT - I changed channels. one of the hidden networks followed. Could that actually be the system remote for something?
In my connected devices it's not uncommon to see a couple of my remotes. The one for the TV and the one for the FireStick use WiFi, I think....

Channels could be the issue. However, are you using the 5mhz or the 2.4? 5 is quicker than 2.4 but has a shorter range. So be sure you are trying to get the distance on the 2.4 network. Maybe your wifi router got updated and it is buggy. Just some things to look at.

Trade secret Auto channel setup does nothing. It's a random number generator. For 2.4 networks use 1, 6, or 11. Pick least congested. You have a lot of networks it seems I wonder if the Comcast public wifi is causing too much congestion for your home network.

The network availability is like this. If you are a customer, while you are out and about you can connect to these hotspots around the service area. After you have been connected at the same point for a while it will require the device to check in at the service address before you can connect to the hotspots again. So far as I am aware and considering the distance from my home to most of the others I am the only one who has ever connected to it. My wired internet speed and such are fine. WiFi speed is fine, but range for it and wireless dongle devices are not.

Maybe the antenna on your router has failed or is failing. You might want to call comcast and have them check it.

Ok, then it isn't the public wifi from the comcast router. Have you had a chance to unplug appliances and see if signal range is better? It is possible the antennae on the router itself has an issue, but if you have old appliances a failing capacitor on a microwave, or even a TV, can cause a ton of interference.

I am thinking it's either got something to do with our phones, or the iPad. I haven't been able to narrow it down completely yet. The only other unknown factor is whether my son has a new device or something going in his room.
