I figured you needed cash, the going rate for these is around 1700 right now in the grey market. But yeah, as Tracker pointed out, it’s unusual to see someone trying to step down in hardware. And if you still need a card — then yeah even 1080ti’s are selling for 650+ and theyre oldddd so the price difference for a 2080 or 3080 would not be worth it if you’re still looking to buy one, cause theyre still inflated.

Also, I havent dont any online second-hand purchases or sales for hardware lately, I mean in the past 5 or so years — but yeah I’m sure scamming is way up as a result of the unprecedented demand and supply shortage. I would only deal with established members, if at all.

But yeah, keeping it is a sound choice. You’re lucky to have one. 😎👍

Now that you have all the computer nerds at half staff, why don't you share some system specs? I second matrix guy.

Glad you decided to keep it. Rumor mill is spinning right now with shortages potentially extending further now with the conflicts of nations. If you just need something that puts out less heat and power you can down-clock the card, or cap the boost limit so it won't clock very high. The card will work just fine and run lower power and energy.

That thing is absolute gold right now.

glad to see you have cleared up the speculation, i wasnt trying to be rude,
i have been known to build a PC or two, so i know exactly what your asking.. typically people are going to be skeptical on anything thats such a high markup item (as mentioned, typical forum scam material), assume for all intents and purposes, magnanimity is dead

in my particular case, because i didnt want to try to figure out how to inject my card into the grey market for tons of cash (it was a non hash rate limited card)

i opted to sell it on my discord,
i basically said "this is what it is, this is how long ive had it, here some pics, im selling it because i replaced it with an upgraded card, this is what its worth on ebay, i dont wanna deal with that, so i split the difference between ebay and retail, (which leaves some money for the next person if THEY wanna do the ebay thing), and said "first person to give me this much, gets the card in the mail"" i had a friends and family from a clan-mate sent to me within about 4 hours for my asking price.

that was honestly the least painful way it could have possibly gone

Ive had successful dealings in both ebay and overclock.net but it was all a while ago, pre pandemic craziness. And yeah given the prices these days, I would be more hesitant especially a $1700+ 3080ti. Thats a decent chunk of change, needless to say.

This was a prebuilt that I got. It had a 3070 non LHR. I didn’t know that it was big money. Some guy messaged me and we talked. He told me to download gpu z and he knew it was worth a lot more than asking. Thank god for nice people.
