    Vintage hand tool repair

Do any of you admirers of the old and obsolete know of a good place to find repair kits for vintage hand tools? I have an Armstrong ha-51 3/4” drive ratchet that has been a breaker bar for at least as long as I’ve been alive. My dad passed it along to me a few years ago and I would love to make it a functional ratchet again.

I have it disassembled and it still looks to be in solid shape but one of the pawls for the ratcheting action is broken, the springs are worn out, and the direction lever lacks the lever. Before is go and see if I can get these parts welded, can anyone point me to purveyors of dusty old packages meant to keep these tools functional? Regular old google search isn’t turning anything up for this particular model.

    thanks.

Have you tried searching ebay for 3/4 ratchet parts? I was surprised how many parts i found on there. Might not be the same brand but something might work. I broke my dad's 1/2 breaker bar and went there to find a new 1/2 drive.... that was years ago and i still haven't ordered it oops. We just use mine but I still get it. A lot of bonding and wrenching time with that braker bar.

Thanks looks like a Proto kit may do the job.
