    Spyder problems

A friend is trying to get some of his old gear set up for his kids and is having some trouble with the eframe. The solenoid doesn't fully actuate when pulling the trigger. If you help it along with your finger it will, but not on its own. He's tried it with a couple of fresh 9v batteries but no luck. It's one of the rocking trigger versions if that matters. I have next to no experience with these eframes so any help would be appreciated.

Spyder will want 9.6v batteries to function properly.

might want to see if the top of his capacitor is flat or domed(will need replacing)

I think it's Powermax or some similar name that is currently available on Amazon and the like as a rechargeable 9.6V. The aspect with them that stinks is the charger is probably more more than the whole marker.

If you are electrically inclined it's not hard to replace that cap and will bring it back to working fine so long as the pancake noid is still good (and it sounds as if it is).
In the case that an easy fix isn't in the cards, it should be relatively easy to put hands on a metal mech frame for an STBB.

Thanks guys. I sort of knew about the 9.6v thing, but thought it would at least half assed work with a 9v. I'll check the capacitor, seems likely it's destined for a mech frame. Are spyders compatible with other STBBs?

TBH, not 100% on that. Even so much as so far as I know even within the Kingman frames you have to watch for slim/fatty striker variants.

There's also a mod that involves putting a little extra space in the Clapper so it can gain some momentum before hitting the sear.
