    NW Mean Green barrel

At first I thought this was threaded by the shape of the body and the ridge at the breech, but trying to get it apart I feel pretty confident it's not. Can anybody confirm whether or not these are unibodies?

Its not. its a unibody Only the Spitfire and the Pink Puff have removable slip fit barrels.

        Unibody. Just lazy machining

Here's what I was looking at making me think it might be threaded:

I can catch my nail along the ridge. Probably just machined where it ends tapered inward.

Now the question is: Do I have it converted to a threaded/freaked barrel, or put a ptp style detent on top like an armson? Cause its rollout city.

PTP detent is just for anti-doubling, if you put it in the barrel, you will have air coming out the hole when fired. Ps I thought they were threaded too, before i got my first one.

What’s the frame look like? You might be able to drill a spider/ego/ or if you want to get fancy like ASP do an oring style but that’s going to take some specific tools to do right. Sandwich it between the frame and body. Not sure what kind of room your working with under that body tho. I would do two one to stop rolling out and one back to stop double feeds.

If you do it right you should be able to hide it all it will make it more usable. I agree tho don’t hack it up.

Probably some yeah, depending how tight the fit is. The other thing I had thought about is just the rubber nipple type detent like an intimidator or spyder style.

I definitely don't want to do anything to take away from what it is, but I also don't believe in wall hangers. It's like building a hotrod to sit in a garage and trailer to shows.

I figure if I could get someone to convert the stock barrel to a threaded barrel, it would still look original minus a little length off the barrel. Then an insert solves the rollouts.

I'll have to look underneath to see where the guide for the pump arm sits in relation to the barrel Chuck E Ducky but that might be an option.

If you can get working detents in it, you won’t need to do the barrel.

ASP has done unibody phantoms before. Not sure if he would be interested but it may be worth a email.

Guess it depends on if there is a spot for an detent to sit before the ball chambered and before the ball bolt back.

They can be offset a lil to it dose not have to be directly center line for accuracy it dose not effect trajectory or put spin on the ball like you would think it would.

Yeah I would do one or the other. The only thing I'd argue for the barrel mod is efficiency. Just for the fact that it's a tighter fit. However after looking at this thing with the guide/insert removed... I could totally just glue a nipple type detent on top and probably be off and running.

Give it a go see what happens. Wonder if you could print a piece that could hold an oring type detent right in the end of that front bolt. Or maybe a small rubber cap for it.

                            Emek detents work well.
you do have to clamp them in though.
if you can use the frame to do so great if not probably just add a part and fastener to clamp it in.
done several phantoms and some nelspots.
