I got some fun PCP rifles. It would be nice to have easy access to fills. Usually fill up at the field when I go. I converted one of these to HPA with the magnetic auger and upgraded barrel Board and Lipo battery. It’s a lot of fun to shoot but the tank don’t last long at 1200 RPM. Mine will shoot continuous until empty with the upgrades. It’s Much more consistent on HPA to especially at high rates of fire.

That looks fun. It also looks like another deep rabbit hole leading to another expensive hobby.

For sure I got it before the shut down Russian imports. So it’s actually been a good investment because you can’t get them anymore. But it’s expensive for a novelty PCP. My 22 cal break action is the real work horse. I got that dialed in real nice. Soffit squirrels Got put on notice...lol I think I’m up to 10 this year.

I have slightly more money than available time, so I never bothered with a hand pump. With the volume a compressor can put out, I may as well put the surplus to use and save my real ammo.

I'm trying this guy out soon so hopefully I can give some feedback on it.

I have used a hand pump for close to three years and it was great for the price, however the time I could be doing other things while it fills and the full workout it is I figured it's time to upgrade.

Get a scuba tank or two. It's much easier and if you have a dive shop close by, the refills are normally $10 or less. I get about 12-20 fills on my tank out of mine. I bought a used scuba tank for $100. The fill station was only $30 from eBay. Worth every penny and a lot less work than the pump or the chinese pumps.

I did a video on YouTube about how to use it.

You must be new here. This is MCB: we do things the hard way.

              😎😁

Scuba tanks and a fill station might work for most, but, in my case, the nearest dive shop is forty miles away, so the cost for fuel would add up quick. Also, my time is limited, I have essentially free energy (technically, since the solar panels aren't yet paid-off), and I really enjoy being self-sufficient, so a compressor is especially appealing to someone with my mental condition. With a compressor, the possibilities open up- PCP air rifle, taking an air tank with me offroading, other pneumatic tools...

              Cheers!

I really feel like this should be on the front page, just under the banner. It would really help some people understand what exactly is going on around here.

Fair enough. I forget not everyone has a dive shop close to them! If you get one of those compressors, just be sure to keep it cooled. From what I hear, they run hot and can burn up if you don't. I think there are reviews and articles on PBNation under the Air section. I'm sure we had some here before but.... 🙄

Cooling is going to be a challenge here in the summer, at least if this is placed in the garage. It gets down to ~80* at night, so I'll probably be able to run it for ten minutes or so at a time. (Not that I'm playing at all currently.) The rest of the year is no concern, though. I do have an air-conditioned back room, so that's probably where it will go.

I saw someone say they used a 5 gallon bucket with ice and water in it to somehow cool it down. I found the review on PBNation. Check this out to see. I don't think the heat in your garage is the issue.

It can get over 100 in there, but I think that will only be a small contribution to the compressor's overall heat output. I moved a bunch of shit around in the back room, so I have room for it there.

Get a Yong Heng, with the gold filter, and you're set. I wrote the article that someone linked to, and have owned a few. They work and work well. I cannot imagine a 13/3000 taking more than a minute or two to fill. A 68/4500 easily fills in under 10 minutes from empty. Here's a link on the review I did, with updates, over the past few years. For people who aren't close to a field or need to fill often, they are a really good option.

Got the compressor in over the weekend and I'm putting it through it's paces atm. It is SUPER quiet(like the same sound as a counter top mixer, like a kitchen aid). I love it so far.

EDIT: like an idiot I forgot to order this filter system for the humidity created in the line. Swapped my line from my hand pump that had the filter on it.

First tank filled to 4200 on first fill when set to 4500, (believe it was due to tank cool down). Turned it back on and 5 minutes later I was at 4500 no problem.

Performed fill #3 today with no issues. Did a 48/3000 fill from 0, took about 30 minutes
