*The high angst, aggression mixed with punk rock, that was perhaps epitomized by 'Hostile Kidz' before it the mindset became its own brand. If I remember correctly.

Funny, back then I remember the aggressive thing being all mismatched and kids with money intentionally looking like street urchins lol. Think I was a square for having a matched dye jersey and pants combo.

To me, agg is fashionista paintballers. Gotta have everything matching from your mask strap to your shoe laces, and everything in between. You may even have that stance like a professional baller. It could include, but isnt limited to dual straps, color coordinated gear, matched gun anno to the clothes, matched pod colors, head bands, lense colors, ect. Typically someone with that much work into owning the look is a douche on field which is why it is seen as bad.. It was most commonly seen on the tourney scene, but most of my local ballers simply say agg when anyone looks like a try hard. Including ourselves, we have fun with it where Im from.

Agg means that the person using the word is retarded. it came out in the early 00s when all the tweeners thought that they were gangsta and all that crap.

Welcome back! There was a trend in the mid 00's of being "Agg", short for "aggressive". It became a sort of style, and IMO influenced a lot of what is popular today. It's not all bad, but it does sometimes promote some shitty behavior.

I'm also one of those "took a decade-plus off OGs". Been loving playing with my pump and mag.

OK, gonna bump this one up because of similar a experience today. They called me "old school" and "og", And by they I mean the 19-24 year olds with new guns. Im 42. Told them I haven't played in many years and I'm not running/diving. And my gun might not work. We all had a good time. Shot each other up. I gotta ask, what does "Agg" mean?

Depending on where you are in CT this guy can hook you up with a good renegade scene.

I brought a mag and a cocker. I never took out the cocker except to show some kids. By kids I mean 20 somethings. People did comment about the old gun shot as good as their spoolers. A mag trigger is heavier than a new gun but still short and crisp. And like you said if you’ve spent time learning g to be fast on one they really do boogie. After all the guys with their own gear left there were 2 of us left from open walk on with gear. In order to go play with the open rentals we had to use rental guns. Did that for an hour until closing. HUGE trigger difference on the tippman rentals but you know what. It was fun as hell with the beat up old shake and shoots.

Good for you, that's cool! I was able to get some top of the line stuff by selling my old gear that is now considered a "collectors item".
Lots of machine shops now too, so those wild assed crazy ideas you had can be done for cheap.
I have been playing with gear I could only dream about when I was a kid. It's awesome, and I am having a great time.
    Tear it up buddy!

I do have to say you can't be too timid if you have an Automag lol people do love to ask questions, mostly though people seem blown away that I can shoot as fast as I do with it. I think due to perhaps the popularity of ramping, real trigger skills seem to have fallen to the wayside, after all why spend many hours getting fast pulling a heavy trigger when the electros are cheap and the Emek with a deadlywind valve is incredibly easy to pull? I get alot of smiles from my shoeboxes and Automag RT, which is the most important thing though

Old stuff is the best! I bought an emek used. I shot it for like half a day and it sits in my gearbag. The new stuff just doesn't have the same soul.

As you mentioned the standard seems to be 10bps pretty much all around. I usually play mech or pump and never really feel outgunned. These kids have no idea of the chaos of uncapped semi or 15bps ramping.

Awesome. Welcome back to the game.

The agg scene is still there, but yes as a whole, the paintball community is pretty solid nowadays. It's amazing to see people's reactions to old school stuff. I'm a gear geek anyway and will always spark up a conversation over a cool old setup.
