Would love to go, but that's right in the middle of my work week that week. Sounds like some of my friends are looking to go though.

Never been to the field but new to the area and looking to get back into the sport. Will most likely be in attendance, possibly with a friend. Hopefully it's a good time and the weather isn't too brutal!

Officially going! Going to have the car tent hooked up to the Subaru as well. Not sure what side I'm playing on yet, I was trying to meet up with some folks from Fox's Den, but something came up and they're unable to go, so I'm a "place as needed". Definitely planning on rocking the Sanchez pump, as well as some other old school goodies. It'll be my first really big game, I'm super excited!

Ive been to Blast Camp about 4 times. Hell of a flat field to fight on. Bridge pushes are a good time. You will have a blast. No pun intended.

Report out and general comments on the weekend:

Arrived Friday evening, I dealt with some nasty Chicago traffic and got there later than intended, around 7pm. Staff was friendly in helping me find a spot to set up my vehicle tent (extends out the back of my subaru). Got checked in and found out I was placed on the blue team! I got my tent set up, gear organized and tried to get some sleep. It was warm, and I was antsy, so I only got around 5 hours of sleep.

Saturday morning. I got up, ate, got paint and gear ready. I was actually camping in the "staging" area, so helped some folks set up. Team Five-Zero set up right across from me and were also on the blue team, so I hung out with them for a good portion of time. After the pre-game meeting, got all chrono'd up and ready to go. It was going to be hot and humid. First session was a ton of fun. For those who haven't been, Blast Camp is built on/around an old missile base. Tons of old buildings and structures broken up by woods and additional bunkers. Being unfamiliar with the field, it was a little confusing at first, but I quickly got the hang of it. Unfortunately, I pushed myself a little too hard in the morning and slacked off on hydration. I had to pull out about 45 minutes early and cool off, I was starting to get dizzy.

After lunch break, teams switched sides. I was feeling better and played a bit more. Objectives were fun, missions were fun, having a team tank made things really interesting. Due to the heat, the "dinner battle" (essentially a mini final-battle) was cancelled, nobody really complained. There was some open night play, which I didn't participate in, but watched from the sidelines. They also set up a screen and projector in the staging area and we watched Mad Max: Fury Road.

Sunday was much cooler and more humid, with the threat of rain looming. I played through most of the morning session until the rain started to set in, then had to pack up the tent and head home.

I played all day Saturday with my ULE Mag, and all day Sunday with the SL74 EGO. One of my biggest accomplishments was on Sunday with the EGO. I ran out of paint, but didn't want to head back to spawn to re-supply. We were pushing on a building that held a slap stick "control point" and I didn't want to give up my position. So I would just pop out randomly from the woods, dry fire, and slink back into the woods before the opposing team could respond. Apparently I was enough of a menace that they used one of their precious "sniper" cards on me. It instantly takes me out of the game, but it does have a cooldown for them to use again.

Overall, I had a blast (pun intended) and will definitely look to play it again next year, as well as any other big games put on by Red Feather Paintball.

            Pros:
            - Scenario was a ton of fun. Enough scenario specific things to do to keep it interesting, without being overly complicated. Mad Max was an awesome theme and made for some fun times.
            - Players were generally good spirited and friendly. Rarely saw shouting matches or even overshooting. It did happen, but again, for the amount of players, it was pretty even keeled.
            - Teams were very balanced on Saturday. Lots of back and forth.
            - Paint was white/pink shelled with a white fill, made things very visible to see and easy to spot hits

            Cons:
            - Sunday team balance was awful. Red lost around 30 players, Blue gained around 30 (just do to people no playing Saturday/staying home Sunday), so some rebalancing happened.
            - Though most likely because of the humidity, the paint was very bouncy. I took several bounces off my mask that I swore would've been breaks.
            - I over-packed paintball gear and under-packed snacks. I was planning on cooking dinner on Saturday and definitely did NOT feel like doing so after a full day of play.
            - Bathrooms were meh. I can't really ask for much here, but at least tackle blocked/clogged drains so there's not toilet water all over the floors

I did take some pictures of the props and awards that will get posted later this week.
