    Old School Cocker

Got this one back with the rest of the inherited markers from Fred. Gonna clean it up over the next few days and put her back together. I have all new front components from a 2002 vert feed cocker that has a bunch of aftermarket gear on it. Should I use the "pretty certain to work stock '02" parts or take a chance with the stock parts and attempt to rebuild them?

Apparently those “LPR”s are a royal pain and best to replace. I rebuilt a similar aged cocker with updated parts. I did a built and comparison thread on it somewhere in the Autococker sub forum. There’s a few things that don’t directly convert, like the hammer lug, which is too wide fo the hole. I also converted to a 2k valve and spring but you need and right IVG for it.

        Found it: https://www.mcarterbrown.com/forum/p...pre-2k-cockers

I still love the old slab side cockers. I built out my '96 as a sleeper but kinda want to find another and keep it stock.

I love your pump arm and want it!

I absolutely love my 96 cocker. I would go with the 2k2 3-way and an upgraded LPR.

I strongly recommend a new IVG and and hammer to run nelson springs. I have period correct Bob Long Reg with an Eclipse Tournament Lock on it if you are interested. Would match this nicely.

I would gamble this one is not top drilled for a nelson spring, top down lug adjustable hammer. So its either keep the sheridan setup, and the fun of lug adjustment via removing the frame, or top drill it (which would be a damn shame at this point considering how original it is).

Leave it as is and deal with the timing headache as she is perfectly period. Also all that is perfect for a co2 build.

As for the LPR, that should be held on to, as its neat to have such a cool old piece, but I would remove it and get something that actually works.

I agree with OpusX keep it a classic CO2 machine. Really nice markers there

I have cockers to tinker with. This bad boy is gonna stay original as long as I own it. I will swap out the LPR for the 02 LPR but thats it.

Had to use an 02 Ram and LPR. Totally gonna attempt to rebuild the OG ones still. This needs to be totally timed so I didnt press down the collars on the air lines yet.

Had a different reg on it but found one of the older cocker regs that I had rebuilt a while back waiting for a home. So I swapped it out after I took this pic.

Do I spy a Spyder ASA and gasline?

Yup. I am making a twin barrel mg for ION using 2 Spyder Fenix markers. Not using either of their bottom lines or regs. Might as well put them to use until i can track down some more suitable components.
