I am building a dedicated mag fed field on the land I just bought here in the Ozarks. I will be contacting reps from previous sponsors to make this happen as soon as possible.
If its ozarks MO I will definitely come visit if its open to the public. How strict on mag fed do you plan to be? Dedicated gear only or will stock class or 10 rnd tube in the feedneck be leagal?
The Ozarks (also referred to as the Ozark Mountains or Ozark plateau) extend across five states: Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Illinois. The majority of the region falls in Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas.
So we have a format we call modified magfed for a number of reasons.
I definitely don't want the acreage soaked in paint and as I'm not selling paint Mag Fed makes sense.
I have been to a LOT of events where AGG took over people's senses. I won't have any of that at my field. Every time I have met up with new mag fed players they seemed to be great sports with great attitudes. I can say the same for pump and SC players but my heart is in Mag Fed.
Modified Mag Fed is just Mag Fed with the addition of
A5s, 98s, TM7s that use a 30 round rip clip
Dfenders and whatever that mech hopperbuilt in Tippmann thing is
Grenades and Launchers
.43 Trainers
Fsr of course
So I have been playing 25+ years and I have always wanted a facility dedicated to realistic missions and play etc with a format that made a focus on strategic planning, accomplishing the mission and not getting shot. Well that is what I am building from the ground up.
I bought land on the outskirts of Steelville, Missouri.
My field is deep in the bush on private land 4 miles from a town with all the supplies you will need to camp(and you will).
I’ll try not to make this a diatribe against fsr or milsim but I do have a bias against them. To each their own and so I’ll try not to make it about that.
based on the name of this post, I assume the goal is to provide a space for hyper milsim sniper play to say who is the best paintball sniper. I’m guessing though that you are concerned with getting an all snipers game together because it will be long and slow and even for people that like slow sniper play, this may be too slow to be worth the drive. So, again guessing, the other folks with the limited paint 98s, a5s and alike are basically cannon fodder for the snipers. Do other people really want to play as cannon fodder? If not, how do you fill the field? If you can’t fill the field, how do you attract enough other snipers?
The foil to any sniper is a rapidly changing line, correct? You can’t really snipe if you are constantly being overrun. The agg players with their space guns and aggressive play would be a nice counter balance to the fsr snipers. By limiting paint you essentially overweight the effectiveness of the sniper. The sniper no longer has a foil which will make the game much less enjoyable for everyone.
Next question, if magfed is really to limit paint, why not open it to pump?
I also have to second what morgenstern said. A ton of dyed gelatin may not be pretty but it is better for your land than a bunch of polystyrene.

This all sounds fine to me with the exception of Dfenders or built-hopper markers. I like MFOGs, but once you allow box mags or built-in hoppers it really just becomes open play with a needlessly complex loading system.
Not trying to poop in your corn flakes, I like the idea, but from a limited paint player's perspective I have hesitations.
Nah…I’m just thinking that this lid blower of an announcement…if it had any chance of happening…there would probably be some kind of investigation afterwards. It sounds like an ad for an incel training camp typed out by Adin Ross and that kind of thing often has an aftermath.

Magfed Society ran an FSR only event last year that was extremely popular. Everyone that partook had nothing but positive things to say.
If you can get the bodies then good on ya. But a magfed only game isn’t what he is proposing. I just don’t see why someone would be ok rocking a magfed 98 with roundball when the game is set up for snipers.
It’s just not my bag though. What ever floats your boat.
I ran a big west coast field for awhile and it taught me as soon as the AGG speedballers show up problems start. As I said it's modified Mag Fed which is why this is posted in the First Strike forum. Every game I played across the world with Mag Fed or pumps turned out to be great events but I can't say the same for tourneyball.

I was working w Greg Hastings putting up his Hitman Time Trials when I realized what I wanted in my assault course was more movement, targets on both left and right as well as a grenade toss. I have all of this built in to the assault course.

Yeah overly aggressive players suck almost as much as the ones who just want to light up and hurt other players. They exist in magfed too. FSR rounds with the velocity cranked up are not fun to get hit by! XD
