    How Walz gets freaky

This thread deserves a place on the resurrected forum.

"""""No patent pending here on freak barrel system - anyone who wants can make one up.
No lathe involved to do this.

Simply remove barrel from body, cut breach section to 3 7/8 ( for stock bolt) (its 3 3/4", some aftermarkert bolts are a bit longer so cut accordingly.
Now you need a piece of 7/8" tubing (030 wall) cut at 6 7/16".
Next, sand down original barrel breach piece (the 3 7/8's one) on a belt sander or rotory sander for snug fit in the 7/8 tube.
Do all cut outs and redrill for feed hole and tranfer port. (best to make it bigger- I use 5/16 o.d. tube for this).
Next cut down a feedtube to 5 1/16" and sand it down also to fit into the end of the 6 7/16" piece so you have 2 1/2" sticking out.

Slide a freak insert into cut down feed tube to make sure length is right on. (should be flush with end of tube.

Next cut another piece of 7/8" tube )030 wall) for the barrel and sand down the original left over barrel piece to fit. Note: you can make your original barrel up to 5 1/16" longer than it was originally.
Slide the sanded down barrel piece into the 7/8 piece and slip the whole thing over the first piece you did ( breach section). Butt the 7/8 sections together (slide the barrel piece all the way until it bottoms out against the feed tube piece).
After fitting pull barrel out of 7/8 tube and drill two small holes and reinsert barrel (fit again), now solder the two small holes ( will lock the barrel end and the 7/8 tube together.
    I think that is it...

For those who are helped by pictures…here’s Manning’s run from the original thread. *pictures shamelessly stolen and re-posted for posterity*
