Before smart parts went under they tried to release a new impulse that had no macroline and they didnt make many of. I heard it had a design defect of a "self eating valve" and wanted to try to learn more. I stopped playing paintball before this time and wasnt around for it.

Usually when a poppet valve destroys itself it's because the body is made of brass/aluminum and it gets deformed from being smacked by the stainless/steel hammer/rammer. Not sure if that's the case here. I know the 09 Impulse had a balance valve which are generally finnicky so that may have something to do with it. -
