Freak back threads into PV1 but not 4x4 S/F?

I've a Freak back in original Shocker threads that I want to use on the 4x4 but it's won't start threading in. It will thread into my old Pv1's though. Other original Shocker barrels will thread into the 4x4. Chalk it up to tolerances perhaps?

Sounds like tolerance issues... is it a loose fit in the PVI, or fairly snug?

if you decide to sell I've been half-heartedly looking for a 4x4 Freak back.

It fits well in the PV1's, not loose.

Stinks, as I want to use it on the 4x4.

Let me think if I'll let it go. I'll try a few more things. It could just be the marker.

Inspect the threads on the 4x4. I've had to clean up a small burr right at the start on one of mine. I do have one AA barrel that fits fine in all of them, except for a tight fit in one, so it could definitely be tolerance stacking.

I just went through this with my Sport SF with a brand new Freak back,The Barrel Back wouldn't even start to thread in,checked with a friends SFT and viola threaded in flawless.Ended up selling the Freak back to recoup my money to have my factory barrel Bored by BMC. I didnt really want to go down this road though because of how hard matching Splash barrels are to come by these days if it were to get lost in shipping....
