Nerve & Shocker SFT upper/lower board compatibility.

I need a shocker/nerve or Smart parts expert to answer a question about these platforms for me if possible. I see on the Shocker SFT schematic listed on ZDSPB that it says shocker/nerve at the top. upon further investigation it appears that the cricket board is the same for the nerve and shocker?

I am not an expert in them but yes it was always my understanding they are interchangeable.

They were interchangeable but the eye ribbons were not.

I used to buy nerves to part into shockers for the short time shocktech sold body kits

I know the ribbons are not physically swappable as they use different sensor packages and have other dimensional constraints. More so wanted to know if the firmware on the OEM cricket boards that came with each marker was the same or they are just technically able to run each others hardware.

Yes the only difference between a soft cricket board and nerve board is the nerve board had ramping standard. Whereas the original shocker board was semi only. I have never seen any documented differences regarding eye logic between the shocker or nerve, just some dimensional differences.

Just FYI. The nerve/SFT board is also compatible with the shocker NXT, but they require support for break beam eye logic, not just the reflective eye.

Some of the later aftermarket boards have a toggle for bounce or break beam eyes iirc.

Virtue did for sure at least

Correct. Pred, virtue, sci-fi, smart parts team board IIRC ,dynasty, all had toggle options.

I believe the base nxt shipped with an updated nerve board. Same base program just added compatibility for break beam eyes.
