Crossover - Snappy Trigger or I’m Weak

Just picked one of these up used. It’s a tippmann it aired right up and shoots. The thing is, I thought mech mode was broken because of how hard the end of this trigger pull is.

I finally got it down and I’m wondering if that’s normal or there’s something I can adjust. I minimized the pre-travel so now it’s like 1/2 useless trigger movement and 1/2 super heavy valve opening.

here’s a video, looks to be about 3 pounds pull, which is not all that unusual I guess.

None of mine feel stiff. Certainly heavier than an electro, but far less than a blowback or average autococker. I like the snappy feel on them. They can be a bit less efficient in mech mode though.

I assume ya snagged that craigslist crossover. I was eyeballing it, but need to save for my splat tag season pass so I held off. That thing looked a lil abused though, it could just need some loving? Another thought is your input pressure could be too high( assuming it has an on off like mags).

Also what was the improvement for the crossover xvr or whatever. I thought a valve upgrade was involved. Maybe the fact that its an origional crossover is part of the heavy pull?

          Either, way nice snag!

Yep, that’s the one. It needed some alcohol and q tips, but other than that aired up with no problem.

I shot a couple reballs through it and it’s possible pressure is set too high, I won’t know till I chrono I guess

I grabbed that 25 dollar 68 carb, but didnt wanna swing for that cross over. The tank alone was worth the buy though.

Mines a XVR and trigger is definitely not heavy at all. It’s actually really nice I find I can rip on it as quick or quicker than the eNMEy I have. Mine obviously has the updated trigger assembly (standard on the XVR) and was a free upgrade from tippmann for the originals. Mine also still has the spring in it.

For comparison trigger is lighter than both my Automag and Azodins. About on par with the eNMEy, less of a squishy actuation though.

          I really like it.

from this it looks like the pull is about 3 pounds, the scale is in pounds, oz, 1/10oz and I got a decent tare

thats not as bad as I thought it would be, maybe I’m spoiled by the CVO and gunfighter triggers I’ve been using and my frame of reference is messed up. It still feels heavier and definitely less smooth (as in more “2-staged pull”) than even my spyder though.

One more update! Put a hopper through it, something must have broken loose because the trigger is awesome now. Must have been some gunk built up in there.
