    Why, just why?

Why did Tippmann put barrel porting that splatters paint inside the hand guard? Pulling this Pro Carbine apart, I went to unread the barrel and it slooowly slid out from the hand guard, coated in sticky decades-old paint. The picture doesn't do it justice, especially because I washed the barrel already, but that is about 1/4" thick goop all inside the guard. Based on the design, I'm assuming this is very typical.

Having porting inside the handle isn't very convenient from a cleaning/maintenance standpoint (especially on a marker used as rentals as much as the pro series was in the day). I am curious if someone would design and 3D print a new handle based off of where the porting is and incorporate baffling inside of the handle to "keep rain out" *cough cough*, if there would be a noticeable change to the shot signature... when it is raining of course. Food for thought.

I have a Pro Carb. I put a piece of electrical tape around it & ignored it. Only one layer so it fits back in the shroud.

I always figured it was a lame attempt at sound reduction because those things are not quiet at all *chunk chunk chunk*

can I make a couple suggestions for Pro-Lite Super Grip ver. 2 ? Make the next one a bit longer , so it can engage the Tippmann Vertical Adapter mounting hole which is present on all the pro-lites and pro-carbines.....drop a bolt in there too and it would be even more stable. I'd also bring that foregrip a bit farther back too.

I last shot my Pro Carb summer last year with semi-old paint, HPA and the stock barrel. Shot mid-270s, VERY rare shot over 280 or under 270. I was very impressed with the consistency.

My Pro Lite cycles just fine. I'm going to take it to the field next time and chrono it. If it shoots too low, a new mainspring will be the fix.

                    Awesome and glad to hear!
I'll have to try my prolite but shouldn't be much different

They should do good, pro carbs have the cvx valve which runs very well on both.

Now just waiting the 7 hours for it to print... (twiddles thumbs).
The goal is to put my empire spring feed on the side there.

That is pretty cool. Awesome thought to put an empire spring feed on there. I've been running my prolite on a spring feed for quite a few years now and it has become my favorite setup.

Just want to say, to say paint inside the foregrip is typical is not true in my experience. I've been running my pro's since around '05. I've never had to clean out a foregrip. That seems to be relegated to beater rentals with bad detents.
