    Angel LED Conversions

I was recently given an Angel LED the battery is dead, there is no HPR, thankfully it has been changed for standard HPR threads and it was tuned to be very quick before it was retired, many years ago. Since it was retired it has stayed indoors in a coolish dry building and has not done much. My question for you fine people is a matter of opinion and options. I have heard from TAG that there are not any mainstream Angel techs around right now that have parts and the 2 main parts that go bad, the solenoid and ram are difficult to find.
I was able to talk to a member here that was at Supergame and he has agreed to take a look at the marker fix it if possible and see if he can find any parts if it needs them. I like casting a wide net though and wanted to ask if anyone has any parts for theses or knows of modifications like the rebuildable ram for the A1 that work for the LED.
I would like to make this marker something that can be used for years to come, so if there is something you would modify on the inside of the marker and make it last longer and more usable for years to come I am all ears. I have to be honest here I would like to keep this on a small budget though as this marker while fun is in the minor leagues for backups and will not see a ton of play time.
Ideas that i have include using an arduino or arduino based board like the scifi or morlock board and replacing the battery with a 18650 or something similar. Replace the parts i can and find parts that work the same and fit in that marker.
Another idea and I am not sure if this is possible but replace the parts that I can and make a mechanical Angel much like the mechanical Ion.
I am in the early stages of planning on this and if someone has an idea that sounds better I have no qualm with going that route, I also understand that this might be over my head or outside the budget of what i am willing to spend.

Unless my brain has been recently fried, an Angel LCD ram should work in the LED. And is rebuildable from the factory. Just not very fun to do.

Solenoids are difficult to find and unique to the LED. If you need any wiring for it let me know, I should have all the wires/connectors/switches.

lcd/led ram are the same and are rebuildable.
Enoch makes a drop in replacement.
scifi makes a universal board which i am sure would work.

reach out to estilo paintball in socal. He does a bunch of angel work and i would suspect be cheaper than tag.

I got a battery for a airsoft that worked, also built one DIY and also got one from eBay that somebody bought from angelpaintballparts something or other. If you can keep it without Enoch it’s more nostalgic. The ram is eh🙃 it might just need a cleaning and lube by someone who knows how to take it out and put it back correctly. Good luck and cheers for rebuilding an LED. I got allot of love for the single gold trigger.

I'm kinda in the same boat as the OP. I just got an old LED, and where is the Estilo tech that you mentioned in So Cal for angel work?

And because I am a newbie to LED/LCD/ IR3 gen guns, why can't an LCD solenoid be used in a LED? I didn't think these 2 generations went thru as drastic a change vs the IR3, asking cause looking to know all I can about the older WDP guns

The LED solenoid housing is very unique. See below for an old Warpig picture.

I'd be interested to know what kind of airsoft battery you got to work.

I bought it to see if it worked and if it didn’t I would have returned it. This link isn’t the exact one I bought, but it looks pretty close. The only thing I don’t see is both tabs on one end. Both +- wires have to come out of the same end. I’ll keep looking but you get the idea. It’s just a 6v tube of 5x 1.2v cells.
