Dang 13hr drive threw ChIraq. Don’t think I can field a team for this one.

Camping available that sounds fun tho. 13hr is too long of a drive unfortunately. Hopefully they post some footage. What’s the fields look like at Fox paintball. Going to have to add that to my bucket list of fields.

Last year we had the opportunity to play this event in New York and it was a blast! While I’m glad that they elected to change the location, it is disappointing that it’s no longer in the northeast. Like Chuck E Ducky said this is now too far for us to travel. Although, I’m sure the teams who attend this year will have an even better experience.

It would also be really cool if some teams/players shot mags. Last year it was all space mechs.

If anyone is looking for a extra body on their team I promise I wont't be completely useless. I'd like to use my 1998 autococker. Otherwise I'm gonna use my brass eagle raptor. Thing has not let me down ever and it shoot and chronos excellently. .

Okay, I'm officially pumped for this event. I got the official blessing to provide media coverage for the event (thanks Shrimp266 ) and I know two of the teams signed up. Gonna be a fantastic time folks.

Would be cool to see someone running the new novas. I never shot a old one. But I hear the new ones (the n3 not the n1) with the terr-air trigger are really good. I love the look of the heavenly ano on the n1. And the orange ano on the n3 makes it look like a dewalt power tool, so I REALLY want one! .

Played in the ICC/Montressor Classic over the weekend. I had a great time playing, used the RMac with the V3 Lurker barrel kit and it performed admirably until the last game. I think I need to service...something. Trigger pull got weird and air efficiency went to poop. Anyways, on to the tournament:

                  The Good:
I had an amazingly fun time playing. I absolutely love 10v10 mech, there's just something so chaotic, raw, and fun about it. As a team we didn't really perform the best, but my personal best moment was on the hyperball field, holding down the entire snake side against 4 players by myself until time expired.

                  The Bad:
Awful storms Friday night whipped through the area. Several vendors lost tents, and power to the field (and surrounding area) was knocked out. No power = no compressor = no air. Unfortunately the field didn't have a gas back-up on hand, so we were at the mercy of waiting on town power to be restored. At a certain point, they called Renick Miller up at Badlandz and he supplied a gas powered compressor on a trailer. Come about 2pm, the trailer arrives and gets hooked up, air starts flowing. About 2:30pm, the motor promptly blows (big white cloud of smoke) and the air stops flowing. They're able to get about 5 of the scheduled games in before everyone is out of air. It's now about 4pm, and everyone is told to call it a day, and Sunday play will begin at 7am.

                  The Ugly:
Sunday comes, town power has been restored, and everyone is itching to play. The scheduling/organization was mess. There were 2 woods fields and 1 hyperball field, and 2 ref crews, but they only ran one field at a time. Most of the games went to time, and there were long delays in between matches. The guy running the PA system was not in direct communication with the head ref or the scheduler, so they were calling teams to chrono way ahead of time, leading to us waiting in staging, gear on, sometimes for 45 minutes or more. By the time we finished what was suppose to be our Saturday schedule, it was 4pm.

Reffing was...okay. It was hot, everyone was agitated, there were some good refs, but a lot of newer refs, or refs not willing to run in and perform checks. Also, apparently only the head ref on each field was given flags to call penalties, and I don't think a single penalty was thrown all day. It led to quite a bit of chaos once teams figured that out.

The fields were good, my only personal gripe was that the hyperball field didn't have any sideline space for media, without standing in the brush that contained poison ivy. The paint was really bad. Everything leading up to the event implied it was field paint only, when in fact it was not. The GI field blend was dimpled and misshaped off the GI, it immediately swelled and started to stick together. Luckily there was a team that dropped out that sold us a bunch of Evil that shot quite well.
