    Printing trigger guard

So years ago tons of ppl cut trigger guards to fit double trigger on their frame.

And now i know most fields wont let you play with marker that has no trigger guard.

I want to bring this beauty out to the field, keeping the frame and single trigger.

Anyone up for printing a trigger guard that will mount using the front frame screw. Totally open on design, maybe it can butt up to grip or can tap a hole on the other end to mount on the grip.

I am thinking something like this. I know I have a few more benchmark and carbon fiber frames that can use a guard.

Shouldn't be too hard, but they are not gonna be super strong, a pull or hit on it will likely break it ... But if its too look compliant at a field, it should do ...

      Whats your timeframe?

No rush at all, I have a couple others i can use while i wait. And working on getting some other builds together and ready to go.

Now we need exact dimensions ... its gonna be tough making it without the frame on hand.

I can send couple of frames, benchmark and carbon fiber with the guard picture for you to work with.

question for you, when you say they will likely break. Is that because the material strength and likely the mounting hole could snap?

Are there different strength or materials type that can be used. I remember years ago one of my buddies that worked in a CnC shop. Before they did a full run of things they always did a test run of parts. They would use some material that look a lot like what 3d machines are now using, just in block format to mill.
the blocks came in different colors, black, blue, yellow, white and they would have different hardness/flex.

Can this be made with something that has flex so that it can still function as a guard but not snap?

The plastic does have some flex, but it will be very week at the hole.
3D printed guard will be aesthetically there for compliance, but will NOT provide the same trigger safety as a metal one.

If i were you, i would have a few spares in my bag and when one break, swap it out in the staging area.

Yeah that is a good idea, I was planning to have at least 2-4 since I have other frames needing it and extras around. Depending on price maybe more.

Totally open to design too, if it helps giving it more strength the hole could be thicker. Just would have to use a longer screw. And or maybe the with can also match the with of the frame giving it more strength.

I dont know just some ideas.

Having it wrap around the frame a bit will help having a bit more meat there and help with the guard rotating (you cannot tighten it as much as an aluminium one ...
          Working...
