Some threads load, though a bit slow, others give me this error. Had it happen a bunch then it was fine for a little bit, now one in about 20 threads are doing this.

I really hope this isn't a sign of more issues to come, lots of amazing info on that site.

PBN is basically abandonware at this point. The mods don't have much power, and the owners (who also own ~1200 other forums) don't care. They don't care because their business model is about selling doomscroll ads for people who google the forum's topics (but are not members). Their incentive to improve the forum is near zero, because it's 10x more efficient to just buy another forum and harvest their SEO than it is to do work improving any given site.

It will probably gradually get worse.

Verticalscope own PBN. They in turn are owned by Torstar. Torstar is owned by Jordan Bitove. None of these people have any interest in paintball as such.

I'm sometimes tempted to try calling Jordan, see if I can take PBN off his hands...

I agree on it being abandoned, I just hope it stays up so the info doesn't get lost. We already lost old mcb and custom cockers if pbn goes too it would be a massive loss. Pretty sure if that were to happen only the automag forum would be left as an og forum

Whenever I'm searching for old stuff and topics, if pbn comes up the page I'm looking for is usually gone.

It was a good resource. But those days are pretty much gone.

I agree with Fossilhead here. Pbnation routinely comes up in obscure searches for me. The old 09ish thread remnants are on the Google search page sheding some light on the topic. But when you attempt to actually go to said thread, it's gone. I haven't even logged into pb Nation in years since it's gotten so slow.

I called this exactly, when they were bought out by verticalscope. I watched it happen to paintballforum.com. They assured me it wouldn't happen to pbnation but they were very wrong.
The thing about it is at this point, it's past reviving unless every single person starts using it again a the same time. the stickies are ancient, the moderation team doesn't exist because they really don't need to.
This is exactly what has happened o other forums they have purchased. It's sad but at least MCB is active and can fill the role that PBN once filled. (but like...lets leave the small talk and shit posting stuff out of it. that was never fun unless you were a teenage troll.)


It's still not loading for me and has not all day long. I wonder to myself if this is either an update being done, or if this is the day it finally dies for good and is put out to pasture.
