Picked it up tonight. Lotta fun, no game breaking bugs but plenty of entertaining glitches. Such as:

A man sitting four feet off the ground in the middle of the road.
An early game cutscene of a friend eating with chopsticks, but every time he takes another bite another pair of chopsticks appeared in his hands until he held an undulating hand fan of them.
Cars spawning doubled up at draw distance limit(low, currently limping around the game on four gigs of RAM) and getting flung out of one another at warp speed.

Wait, how do you even boot a computer in 2020 with 4 GB of RAM?

I'm holding out until I can pick up an RTX card (aiming at a 3060 Ti or 3070) before I play this, because I have enough else to do right now and I figure I might as well enjoy the ray tracing.

Also apparently pistols are super OP.
Welcome to the world of Cyberpunk 2077! It Is one day away from the games release and I have been given early access to find as many exploits and bugs in cyb...

I'll have to play with that some. I've been having quite a lot of fun using a Katana lately. It has at least 2x the damage output of any gun I've seen so far and as a bonus there is some dismemberment.

The Spiffing Brit dropped another video on infinite money today. Apparently this game is just super broken even after all its development delays lol

Is anyone surprised? Massive open world games are getting harder and harder to make well. Until AI (real AI, not just procedural stuff) gets good at writing the stories and building games on the fly, something will always give. In this case it was polish.

It’s why I generally prefer linear games. Mass effect was considered a good example of an open world but even that was 90% repetitive filler crap to pad out the length.

I finished the main story line over the weekend. Overall I enjoyed the main story. It wasn't amazing but it was definitely enjoyable. I did not get the best ending, but have gone back to the point of no return and run through one of the other endings and it was a lot better.

              In general-
              • The random side missions are not that exciting. I haven't found any that are bad, but they are just not exciting.
              • Some of the longer side missions are pretty interesting. I really liked the story with Jefferson Peralez and his wife.
              • The major character story line based side missions (Panam, Judy, etc) are a lot better and have some entertaining moments.
              • Running around and exploring is pretty fun, especially after you get some upgrades for your legs to enable higher jumping. The city itself is beautiful.
              • A huge percentage of the quest names are song titles which I'm loving. Also quite a few easter eggs floating around.
              • There are so many different ways to play the game. I spent a lot of time sneaking around using quickhacks. Once upgraded you can one-shot a lot of enemies with them until pretty late in the game, and the contagion hack is pretty fun to watch spread around. The Mantis Blades are a blast to tear through baddies with. I'm contemplating starting over and going full-in on a melee build.
              • I really wish decisions during the game affected the ending more. As far as I know, aside from one or two moments the only real choice that changes the ending comes after the point of no return which is a bit of a bummer. The way choices from almost day-1 in The Witcher 3 could change the ending, or even other events in the game, was a fantastic achievement and a tough act to follow.

side gigs are VERY cut and paste

though i like that some of them are open to completing differently, like "monster hunter" theres a way to kill the guy without ever setting foot in the building, i would like there to be more open ended versions

and i would love to do a full mele blunt weapon build, the 3rd tab in body(street brawler), has the ability to remove stamina cost for swinging a blunt weapon by 50% on 2 different entries.. the multipliers in this game might just let you swing a bat fatigue free.. which is way more fun than it should be

So, I've completed 3 different endings so far, starting as a nomad and blasting my way through everything - didn't even touch my cyberdeck until late in the game. I completely agree with cellophane's assessment. It's also really annoying that we cannot change the character after the game has started. I didn't care at all about character creation, so I tapped 'Random' until one made me chuckle and I was ready to move on. Once in the game, I realized the character had bight finger nail paint that reflected light. It was really annoying to have that on screen all the time and there was absolutely no way to change it. I went with the Monowire instead of Mantis Blades. I was hoping that the Monowire was going to be a garrote, but it's more like a tentacle...which was disappointing.

I just started a new character over the weekend; corpo, going to sneak/hack my way through everything possible.

Oh, and there IS A FLYING VEHICLE YOU CAN DRIVE IN THE GAME... It's just slow, constrained to particular missions, and not much fun... You'll encounter it while playing through the Panam missions.

I forgot all about that flying thing! Would be great if it was usable somewhere else- it was fun to use.

I'm playing it on my Surface Book, actually playable with graphics set to Potato. Love the game so far, really like the shooting mechanics, and all the options available with perks. I haven't found the weapons selection particular exciting (I'm mostly using assault rifles), appears to only be 3 real weapons, then a bunch of reskin/random stat rolls.

Melee platforms: sharps, blunts, mantis blades, monowire (think tentacle...)
Gun platforms: revolvers, pistols, SMG, AR, shotgun, sniper rifle. MODS: ~6 sights, ~4 silencers. PERMUTATIONS: Tech, Power, Smart.

While that's a sizable selection, I agree that they weren't very exciting. After Borderlands, that bar is really high.

Super late to the game, but just purchased and downloaded. This is the first game I have purchased since getting my GTX 1080 that will not play at unmodified high or better settings. It's that "system changer" title that will drive me to throw a bunch of money at a new GPU and monitor, when they come available.

I have spent about 15 minutes in game so far. I played out the whole entrance and am in as far as the training. A WHOLE lot of additional time was spent going back and forth between settings. The game loaded and defaulted to Ultra settings and was running ~45 frames and HUGE lag spikes. For reference I am on a 2700x/1080/32GB of CL14 DDR4 (with a 1080p/60 monitor) and this game easily brings the system to it's knees. I can load medium settings for "almost" 75 frames on the second (1080/75) monitor but the title really lacks without the eye candy turned on. I am playing a mix of medium/high and getting 60 frames with few dips.

IMO the physics of the game are a bit wonky. Obviously many others have discussed the need for optimization and such, but simple things like people's hair moving weird. Witcher is, IMO, a FAR better experience so far as the way people and such move. I am sure this will be fixed. In spite of this the game does look good, even when being neutered by an (now) older GPU.

The game plays like SO many other titles. My initial impression is that it seems a whole lot like Hitman from the stealth training, and seems a lot like many other FPS from the combat training.
I am going to goof off with it some more, later. In that itself I am surprised that after spending my $60 for the honor of playing, I didn't bother to make it through training before deciding to wait for later. I cannot think of a title I have done that with since Homeworld...

People are going to throw stones for my opinion on this, but crank those settings up - namely texture detail - until your frame rate hits 30. 30 is the minimum for enjoyable gameplay for 99.99% of people; not 144, not 99, not 60, not 59.94... 30. Playing an immersive RPG on low detail to get high frame rates makes absolutely no sense.

I get where you are coming from, but really dislike the visible hitching when I start dropping below high 50's. It's actually notably bothersome to me when it's dipping below ~55. Frames are like magic smoke....
