    Dye Sticky Grips?

What happened to these? They use to be all over the place when I got out of paintball years ago, but now they don't seem very common or easy to find.

Is it because the newer guns went to all proprietary grip designs, and went away from the "standard 45" grip frames?

Was thinking about putting a set on my AC I'm rebuilding, but they are not a-dime-a-dozen anymore.

I&I sports has some 32* grips on sale. They ain't stickies but they are probably better than nothing.
I could have sworn I had something important to put here...

Pretty much, they would need a different mold for each marker at this point. Heck I got some for an old spyder e frame last week so that just tells you how old the back stock is at this point. Stock grips have also gotten a lot better so theres less reason for players to upgrade as well

Most guns stopped using 45 grips and they were phased out of production

They don’t last and are no longer in production. While super comfortable and sticky they wear out quickly at the same time. Like the old Ego7 -08 grips awesome performance but they get used up quickly. Also the paint eats at that soft rubber making it even softer. For example the JT IZE bottoms using them today is a great way to loose a tooth to some Walmart paint or a First strike.

You can find Dye Sticky’s but they come at a premium like everything else out of production and sought after. They stopped production, mainly because the industry went to proprietary style grips, You see today. I’m surprise they haven’t started reproduction of them with the explosion of Mech but at this point I feel they missed there golden opportunity now that New Mech markers have cornered the market with proprietary grips. People using Cockers/ Mags in Mech Tournament play are really doing so for nostalgia and or style points. So the market is dwindling and getting smaller at this point it don’t make sense for a reproduction.

If you can’t find a pair I have might have brand new set in red I had planned for a cocker build I never finished. I picked up here a few years ago.

I know a place with a bunch of spider ones on the wall. I think the place is still in business haven’t been in a few years but Champion Paintball had a bunch of Spider shaped Dye sticky’s. No classic 45 tho I would look every time I went there. I did pick up 4 JT Revo NIB masks there that payed for an entire season of NXL back in the day thanks to there BookFace Hype value. They had some classic Shocktec parts to like beaver tails and stuff. No pneumatics or anything mostly just bolt ons. Unless an eBay reseller cleaned them out.

So what would be a decent alternative to the classic Dye's? the still in-production Hogue Wrap-arounds?

So I personally love hogue grips. I had a set on my Promaster. Super comfy and very grippy.

I agree I actually like these better way more durable. ODM can customize some standard panel style grips to if you like that style.

Hogue grips basically never wear out in paintball use. The worst ones are still fine.

Dye grips are shot within a year or two of regular play.

As others said, they are just all turned to garbage so any old inventory is now deployed and if the guns actually get used they will also be garbage too.

Rubber grips like Stickys would last if people actually cleaned their gear.

              Just sayin'.
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

Nah... In regular use and cleaning one of my back up cockers dye sticky 3's started to peel then crack. In the same time line my main cocker had pachmyers and they gave zero shits about paint and sweat.

Sticky3s are pure garbage anyways. I'm talkin' OG Stickys.

I've got a set of Sticky 3's on an Orracle and I love them. I totally get the hype and they look so very period correct. They last just fine if you wipe them down after a day of play and aren't death gripping the gun. I've had them 4 years now and who knows how long they were used before me.
