    12v Revvy: Xboard Benefits?

I've been using a pre BE 12v Revvy for a long time. I just got a 12v non googly eye xboard Revvy in a lot. What are the differences of the xboard? Trying to decide which one to keep.

Never really noticed a difference in actual performance. Honestly 12V Revvies are all pretty much the same the only real differences is the plastic used for the shell and paddles. There were some boards that did not really regulate down the two 9VDC batteries well and used true 12 VDC servos and the servos at times would give out because of running at too high a voltage.

So basically like the Shredder boards/chips?

To Grendel point I beleieve the major bonus on the xboard was better power regulation.

Better power regulation ad mentioned, I think better battery life. And the X Board also solved an issue with sunlight messing with the eyes (if you had clear shells). Not sure if they're any faster, but I always prefer the X-Board for peace of mind. That plus the OG googly eye shells is my favorite.

Wait. What happens when sunlight messes up the eyes? One of my clear Revvys has been giving me problems. Sometimes it just runs for a while even when there's paint in the stack. Is that related to sunlight?

rawbutter yes, that's related to sunlight. That's why you see some feed necks with black paint in clear revies. The eyes are photocell.

I knew I had seen a Warpig page on the xboards. Sounds like slightly faster response.

Slightly faster response, better battery life threw power regulation, and works in clear shells. The non x boards eyes had issues in clear shells in direct sunlight it would cause feed issues. Most clear are so faded now it’s not an issue. But if you see clear shells painted black at the feedneck area this is why. It was the easiest fix before the new boards board came out and made the issue non existent. Changing the agitator paddles out is the best way to speed up the feed. So really it don’t matter today unless you have a mint clear shell you want to use.

The Polly shells are more sought after as they are much more durable.

So after reading that warpig article, apparently my original Revvy has an xboard. The power/status light is clear and glows red, which the article states is one way of telling the boards apart, as the original was red plastic. Good information, thanks!

I have a very early Revy board with a clear light that isn't an X-Board. So it may or may not be. The early ones have other interesting resistors etc soldered on the board and wires going to the battery contacts.

The reloader sound board with the vortex impeller is the best combo. The x board spins too fast and flings balls away.

the cool WAS turborev board is worth it for the cool rarity but the more common reloader board is the best.

you can use the reloader motor just file the splines into the shape of the hex or square or whatever on the stock motor.

I hate the sound boards. Lots of my markers are not loud enough for it to feed.

I have reloader guts in the old eyeball shells. Actually I'll probably sell it soon. But I've never had a problem with it not feeding, and I get comments almost every tiem I play about how quiet my guns are.

I couldn’t get it to feed well on my UL barrel emek. Or my open class CCM with a Pump PB tight stick. I borrowed one from a friend and had issues. Ended up taking the batteries out of his and put them in my hopper for the day.
