Hmm I asked him about it last night at about midnight (here) and he said he had a local guy coming to pick it up "in 15 minutes". He also said no PayPal.

Hmm, that doesn’t look good. No feedback either. He wanted to trade for a paintball gun and offered and A5 and said he wanted something newer. Guy isn’t very responsive either.

Thought something was fishy with the account just being made that day. I tend to avoid trying to get people from Kijiji to ship since the “Juice” phantom incident last year - and anything JT that isn’t insanely priced seems to get scooped up quick

Phantom for cheap on Kijiji

3 persons wanted it and agree to sent the money to the guy. Money was e-transfer so no buyer protection.
Only one of the 3 got the phantom and the other two lost their money.
At least two of them where members here. Some info on the seller (adress and phone number) where sent to the other two that where scamed I dont remember what happen after.

I called the local Edmonton police, they said I had to file with my local police first, my local police said they don’t get involved in things from Kijiji or FB Marketplace. Reported the guy for Fraud to the “Canadian anti fraud centre”, but that is just a “reporting tool” and seems they don’t do any follow up or enforcement. Not sure if any of the other victims had success with their local police, the other guy who contacted me didn’t seem to have much luck.

I ended up getting the Phantom package. I shared all the info I could with others but figured it would go nowhere. He did try a couple more Kijiji scams shortly after too.

wonder if it’s a legit listing or if it’s a scam playing the “I don’t know what I have” card and hoping someone sends quick payment before they realize what they have

Scam. The mask photo is 10+ years old of custom cockers. If they took a new photo that’s one thing, but it’s the same. Flagged it.

Also message the guy calling him out. He said he flagged me. I told him his fraud attempt is well documented and if he had the mask to post a new pictures. He just said it was no longer available. Just keep flagging him. I’d assume his other postings are fraud as well.

Update: After requesting an update photo of the mask he took the ad down.
