I actually just realized, it might be a bit of a dig at Meteor. Meteor dropped those pumps out of nowhere and sold out quickly, right around the time that Nova's sentinel pumps were having a rocky debut. The sentinel didn't sell nearly as well and they still have plenty in stock. Nova has plenty of reason to be salty at Meteor.
The new meteor Ghost that's being teased is right around the N2s price point, "high end mech". Biggest difference we know of so far is that it's closed bolt. Nova might be trying to just cover all it's bases to make sure they can offer a closed bolt high end mech too, and possibly siphon some sales off the Ghost.
The big question is IMO is going to be execution. The N2 has a wildly good trigger, and the gen 2 internals seem to have excellent paint handling (which I believed was the issue with the gen 1 internals) If they can carry both of those features over into the closed bolt internals its immediately a competitor to the Ghost. They'll almost definitely beat the Ghost to market too, since it's not due to release until the fall.
The big question is, especially with Nova, can they do it well, or is it going to be another good idea with sloppy execution? It did take them over a year fix the internals on the N2, and they've dropped the prices on the N2s significantly as well.
It's going to be super interesting to see how the two markers stack up next to each other when the Ghost finally does come out.Last edited by Myrkul; 06-08-2025, 01:14 AM.

“Nova has plenty of reason to be salty at Meteor.”
Because they both released public access versions of a 40 year old design at the same time instead of waiting for them to sell out first? Is that the moral transgression that took place? I didn’t know the chivalric code of paintball manufactures was so narrow.
The Meteor stuff was more interesting. The Nova has the look of what it is: a cheap Harbor Freight Sniper. The Meteor at least has a unique/uncommon handle. It has…something.
If they’re sitting on a ton of pumps nobody wants my only advice is figure out autotrigger. If a manufacturer can’t invent anything relevant, can’t include AT, won’t make the stuff in the US, then perhaps his gun is less compelling that cobbled together old eBay stuff. I can say with some certainty that if they had AT I myself would have bought one.

Zero moral transgressions took place on either side. Not sure how you jumped to that.
They are competing in the same markets, first the sniper based pump market. Meteor won that round handily.
Nova might be upset about the loss and looking towards round two which is high end mechs and hoping to do better this time.
Companies can have healthy competition over the same markets without anyone doing anything wrong. This competition is usually what leads to the best end products for the consumer, so I think this is a good thing.
AGD and WGP had plenty of salt back in the day also competing over the high end mech market, and both companies were morally upstanding.

Thank you Myrkul for the compliment and no we don't hold any animosity towards Meteor, hell we've spoken to those guys a few times, wish them all the luck. A little competition is good for both of us and really great for the end consumer. We know we aren't everyone's cup of tea and we get it, all we can do is just keep pushing forward. The N2 has come a long way for us and were still trying to find new and cool ways to modiify and upgrade the current models. New markers and launchers coming in the very near future looking forward to seeing a lot of you guys at the next big event.
