2nd Opinions Wanted - Slider Frames

Alright, in light of me losing all self-discipline I've decided to build another cocker. Torn between the Mozak slim slider and the ST Gunfighter. Anyone want to throw their thoughts my way?

    -Mike
EDIT - looks like Inception has blem RIP frames as well. Guess that makes 3 possible frames lol

EDIT AGAIN - could possibly entertain one of those new FF/Dye frames too...so 4 possible options now LOL

I haven't played with a Mozak frame yet. But have used, built, and installed Gunfighter frames extensively. They are very well made and easy to shoot. They aren't strictly my favorite, but they are a remarkably good quality and innovative product that is almost universally well liked by people who try them. They are also easy to get excellent performance out of without spending a lot of time.

Gunfighter frames get two thumbs up from me.

I have used both the gunfighter and the rip frames. hard to go wrong with either. Haven't tried the mozak frame yet.

I prefer to set my gunfighters up a bit different than stock but that is just me.

snappier i would say the gunfighter stock. it has a heavier snappy pull. The rip frame i would say is mushier.

I'd agree with what Jake is saying here. The Rip is a bit mushier, but can be set up for extremely short pulls and are swing doubles. I would say if you want a snappy single, get a GF 1.5 and put in a delrin plate. They're extremely nice.

BTW, The UL FF Frame----I was actually surprised how heavy they are. There's a ton of extra meat on them. They're not bad, just not as nice as expected.

I'm still weighing options for sure! I just snagged the (barely) used Etha 3M on the BST. I got a whole gun for what some of these cocker frames go for, so I'm going to really deliberate on what I do!

The Mozak frames are butter smooth. Gunfighter is fast and that Rip frame is really fast because you can get two fingers in it. But it Really comes down to preference. Can’t go wrong with any of those choices.

I like the Mozak / Gunfighter better for cosmetic reasons. I just don’t like the look of the Rip personally.

the latest Mozak slim 45 frame is fire! loving mine. I'm not a gunfighter fan, but its just a personal preference, they are excellent frames.

Is there anything for post travel adjustment on those?

I lean towards snappier/shorter/slightly stiffer triggers, even on sliders. The 2mm pull they advertise on the gunfighter is intriguing. I could always tune my old cockers to a pretty short pull, but didn't have anything to control post-travel.

really the only others i'd even consider are the inception or the dye. All of them are gloss.

You would like the gun fighter. Or a later dye slider with both front and rear adjustments (if you can find one)

Lot of this is ergonomics and what feels the best. For long, fast sustained firing my meteor v2 feather frame takes the crown.

The Dye sliders have rear adjustments? I'm going to have to take another look at mine.

Rip frames are also out of stock even blemished. So that is basically off the table unless you buy a used one.
Really great frames though, both the Inception slide and Rip frames are just terrific and deserve to be on your radar.

edit: The ID frames offer a lot of room for tuning to your desired feel. This can be good or bad depending on what you want and how much time you want to spend on it/your experience level.

I have carried the Bomb, DYE, and Inception 3-ways in the last couple years. I like the Inception the best of them, and DYE the least. Bomb and ID are super close in performance. I just prefer the nylon set screw/integrated collar setup from Inception.

I dislike the aluminum shaft and collar on the DYE. This is more of a prejudice from me than anything else and hasn't caused issues on my end. The finish work on DYE's have been uneven visually.

I like the mozak thick frames because they are just regular cocker frames no shenanigans.

if You want to shoot fast with a cocker, the rip frame will be the fastest.

i don’t like the look of the gun fighter because the area where the web of your hand goes is abnormal to accommodate the unique design.

So I like the look of the mozak or maybe if autocockerparts still sells ANS frames those are great too, traditional style.

Leaning towards the gunfighter to try something new, but we'll see. Currently triaging my build list based on rarer parts first. Since these are all currently still made I'm not AS in a rush. I would like to have this thing finished come late spring though. Smooth transition from snowboarding to paintball 🤣

For this reason I would recommend trying to get your hands on a gun equipped with the gunfighter frame before deciding on it. I don't notice it when I play with my Shocktech personally. Although, I do have a friend who sold his brand new Shocktech CG2 because he could not stand the way it felt with that feature.
I've owned both the Inception FLE Slide frame as well as the RIP frame. They are both very nice, but I prefer the single trigger FLE frame slightly. No particular reason for the preference other than I prefer a single trigger frame.

Gunfighter - Stock can be easy. Snappy, never allowing your 3-way to stick. With Some work they can be made REALLY NICE. The back strap coming out early really works for people that are used to shooting hinges - I noticed they usually don’t hold the cocker with their web of their hand all the way to the top. So this can ergonomically be hit or miss.

any stock-style cocker frame is entirely up to the internals you plop in it, and how diligent you are when you do that. Ergonomics are up to the individuals personal preference. This includes Mozak frames. Some notables that are on my “most comfy” list are; Belsales Angry, KAPP Groovy, Bob Long Humpback, Dye/FF UL-AC, Meteors, and SuperCell/LAPCO ANS/Autocockerparts cheaper frame. Benchmarks fall into this category too but I don’t find them too special personally.

Nummech frame was the hardest to get “nice”. Literally took 5 times the effort to get working how I liked. The result is intriguing though and I love it.

what takes the cake for me though is the Inception FLE slider. I don’t love hinges so the RIP frame is too close to one for me to like it. The that FLE slider man… it’s on the best shooting cocker I own. The MOST customizable frame out there - Bar none. Super easy to make this a short or a long pull length, then go from there for springs and such.

Haven’t tried a Mark Davis frame yet. I look forward to it.
