    Scorpion frame on mongoose

Ok well I ened up with that LP project xtra from Johnny dread, bought it for the frame really and well....I had intended to put it on a mongoose body but the sear won't trip, it will trip on the Xtra body all day but won't trip the sear on the mongoose body at all, anyone have any clue why

Can you see the sear in the lower tube once it's on the body?

I'm wondering if the sear is getting pressed down as you put the frame on the body

I will check, what's weird is if I pull the trigger I feel it trying to drop it just doesn't

Yeah I'm thinking the sear may be wider than the cut in the body so it's getting pushed down when the frame is put on. You are feeling the clapper noid try to trip the sear but there's nothing to push against

      That's my theory anyway

This is a scorpion frame, it's a mech frame not electronic,

My bad, not sure where I got that from.

You could still have the same issue though so I would still check it.

Does it cock back and the hammer and bolt stay back? I've also had a similar issue where the sear wouldn't drop down far enough, so if you are feeling it try that could be what's going on as well. Checking for that is a lot harder though. Typically you need to pull the hammer out and then push the sear forward while pulling the trigger and also be looking at the back of the sear at the same time.

Typically it's easier to find something like a washer or piece of card stock to leave in-between the frame and body and just seeing if it will drop the sear then.

Are you using the Mongooses or the Spyder’s hammer? The slot in the Mongoose hammer could be just a hair different than the Spyder’s hammer if it looks like it’s not a body/frame problem.

I used the mongoose hammer cause it looked better it didn't have any rust on it

I have a mongoose 2 at home and it's been a while since I was in it but from what I remember the hammer is the same as a spyder.
