Besides the shape of the pump handle, are there any down sides to the ID? I'm thinking of one but I typically use hitman so the front of the pump handle doesn't really matter to me

Otherwise I liked the kit. Well made. The front of the pump handle was my only issue. Made shooting it very uncomfortable. I never really use hitmans despite having a few on my pumps.

Will be updating this thread with a Check It pump kit.

Be cool to throw the ID Genesis kit in there too if possible. After having had empire snipers, a CCM ez, and a Slice Gold go through my hands, I'm really impressed with the slickness and simplicity and downright affordability of it.

I have regrets for not ordering a Genesis kit in the first place. I likely would have liked the pump handle a lot better. If I have the need and opportunity to grab one I will.

Nice comparison. I’m a big fan of the CCM Ez grip kits. They are my go to.

I tried the ID drift pump kit on my Sniper and the springs were just too weak and sloppy... I could be running, and it would double feed/pump itself. Any suggestions for the Empire Sniper? I'm not a big fan of the stock pump as I keep having to sand the Delrin down as it swells and gets bound up. I bought the ID kit to try and eliminate that and make a smooth stroke... and it's real smooth but too smooth.... can easily double feed and it does not have enough spring strength to get the bolt forward past the eyes... have to take the eyes out or manually push the pump forward to complete the pump cycle.

I'm using the ID universal hammer and "V2 Open Face High Flow Bolt - Half Body" along with the ID mamba trigger with roller sear in the gun as well.

            Thanks

Just get a stiffer return spring or get something to put in the guide rod hole to pre load the spring a lil bit. Don’t inception make something specifically for dropping in the handle. I could have sworn they make like a handle shim kit you put infront of the return spring.

This could also be eliminated with technique by holding the pump handle forward. Lots of people prefer running without a pump return spring you just need to keep a hand on the pump handle all the time.

I prefer a return spring myself for the reason ls above I want it just stiff enough I can run and not chamber a ball but light enough I can get a lil FPS drop by not holding the handle.

That's a good idea. I'd rather not have to hold the pump forward as well so I'll probably try this. Any specific recommendations for brand, length, strength, of spring etc or is it just trial and error? And yeah I might try to shim the guide rod hole with another spacer or something.

Trial and error. Just find springs that fit in the hole and play around until you find one that feel is the most comfortable.

Yeah kind of just have to hit up the hardware store and find one that works for you. Try and find one in a similar diameter so it fits in the handle the same way. You don’t need a super stiff one. Just one a lil stronger then what you got.

Although I found it doesn't work too well on the Empire Sniper since the pump guide rod's diameter is too big on the end, I have started putting these in all of my CCM-based pump guns as I find I like the slightly stiffer return spring
It is compatible with all CCM and Check It Products pump handles and can be installed inside of the pump handle or on the lower guide rod.

The ID Drift pump rod is hollowed out and acts as a volumizer. Are any of the other kits similar? Have you found the extra volume relevant when dialing in springing and pressure?

That’s a great observation and something I had overlooked. To my knowledge the Drift kit is the only kit that does that.

I didn’t notice any difference in the setting of the springs when I had the ID kit. I did not have it very long though. Be an interesting comparison if someone had two pump kits and did a direct swap on a single marker and see the difference.
