PGP bolt not clearing the breech.

So it´s been a decade since I worked on a PGP, so maybe I´m just stupid.

I have a basic PGP. It shoots pretty good, no leaks or nothing. But the when I cock it, the bolt is so far that ball is not falling in breech.
By the time it the hammer catches there is still 5mm showing, and in order to load a ball I have to really push the pump back.

Is your main spring too long or kinked in some way?
How far is the RVA turned in?

No rva, and no matter what spring I use.

Try unscrewing the pump arm from the pump handle a little bit.

It does not matter if I cock by just pulling the bolt, without a pump handle. Still it wont clear.

What kind of bolt is it? Is it the original stock or a 'centerfire' bolt from back in the 80s? If you have one of those rare 'centerfire' bolts there is a slot under it where a block sits in that holds the cocking lug. If you have one of these the block can be put in the wrong way which would cause the same issue. If that's the case just flip the block 180 degrees and you would be back in business.

Just the stock bolt. This is where it cocks, and its really hard to push further back.

The link lug between the bolt and hammer might be too long and cause binding ...
Take the bolt out and make sure it's nice and smooth if it's the newer spring loaded or screw it in some if it's the older style.

It's also possible that the lug jumped over the lip on the front of the hammer and is now on the front side of the hammer. Check to see if you can remove the bolt easily still. I had this happen on a PMI-1.

It’s spring loaded, and it pull the hammer from correct spot.

But if spring loaded bolt is newer, is there a difference in bolt length? Cause the pgp is older style.

Try putting a washer or two on the rear trigger frame screw and see if that helps. Screw was a touch too long on my mac-1 causing the same exact issue, single washer fixed it.

Well it was indeed a spring problem afterall. I cut 3mm off and it now works as it should. Feeling a bit stupid now.
