    Homemade brass feed gate reference.

I traded some items to Walker, and he traded me some sheridan goodies. In the " what did you get in the mail today?" thread I shared the packaged as it arrived. A few people wanted more images of this brass doojiggy in the mix.

Here is what appears to be a custom brass sheridan feed gate, and a very well built one at that. Its different from pps in the fact that the tube opens the gate you cant press the gate to manually open it.

It mounts with a single set screw and looks super nice

The way the spring is used us interesting, but it clearly works.

With the clearance hole, it looks like a relatively easy thing for you skilled builders to make.

You? How are you gonna use a feed gate with out a feed tube?

I should honestly just give it to you for all the generous stuff you have already done....

I wanted to try it out first, but in my expierence, feed gates make getting your ball to drop in the breach a bit harder, they like to speed past the hole as the gates sit so far back.

No need to repay. I’m happy to help…

I don’t have a use for it (yet), but I’d build something around it….yes, even with a feed tube if I had to. 🤣

Come to think of it….I wouldn’t be able to even think about using it for 3 more builds….second thought, keep it, you’re right.

It looks very similar to the ICD design, just in brass

I second this, speedfeeds are so necessary for the clumsy fingered and the brass gods demand more brass

I just can't get over that spring usage. There's a certain redneck beauty to abusing a spring like that in such a well executed design.

Speed feed adapters already make Sheridan tube fed markers 10x better. Being made from/of brass just makes this so much more appealing to a brass addicted weirdo. I especially like the fact that you can't easily bump the feed gate open without deliberately doing so.

My thoughts exactly, someone could make a pretty penny mass producing these, I'd definitely buy one.

I'm gonna try to make one (aluminum for now as I have lot of it on hand) will see how it turns out 😅

Also love the handle ... Really cool 👍
Love my brass ... Love my SSR ... Hard choices ...

I'll be curiously watching. It's pretty hard to find a palmers style speed feed it seems.

I started with an aluminum one to have a bolt on assembly like the one picture d, but I may do another out of brass bronze so I can just solder the hinge mechanism. if it works out well I want to try to solder the mechanism directly on a PGP feed tube ...
But I have everything on hold at the moment ...
