    Resurrecting a $50 kp2

I saw a kp2 on CL last year in my hometown for $50. The owner was very nice and gave me his personal phone number. We talked, and told me it was left behind by a tenant on one of his properties. He knew its value but told me he wanted to give someone a good deal. My problem was that this was in SoCal and I lived in OH and he did not want to ship. Thankfully my friend Lawn was able to get it for me. Big shoutout to him and the owner.

A month later I came home and picked it up from Lawn at the field and balled for the day. At the end of the day I decided to test the KP2. It surprisingly sealed and shot at 220fps. I left it with my best friend who had half of my collection in his home since we always played and he lived 10min away from the field. Every-time I go home a paintball weekend is always assumed by our wives.

Last month I came home again and was able to rebuild it and my friend fell in love with it. I intended resell it but coincidentally it was his birthday so I gave it to him as a gift. Ever since we started playing again and now had big boy jobs, we gift each other markers or some sort of paintball related items for each others birthdays.

The KP2 was in okay shape for a 40 year old marker. This year we went down the Sheridan rabbit hole. We bought five Sheridans last month lol I blame Lawn for showing us his Walz bolt action.

I showed a photo to my friend on how it would look like restored and he’s been at it on and off for about a month. I told him it was a relaxing and satisfying experience. And he agreed. I just want to share his progress.

          Wow!
If you're looking for a good wood treatment, General Arm-R-Seal brings out the grain on walnut like nothing else I've tried, but allows for a urethane topcoat. It's a really nice option that I think would make that "pop".

That is a beautiful restoration. Just need a doc nickel fast change to replace that original thread 12 gram plunger knob.
