    Ion Banjo Fittings

Anyone have a line on them that doesn't cost $25 for a used one that probably leaks?

I looked up an equivalent part I'd like to try from Clippard, but after shipping ($20, really?) it's almost as bad.

Those would be worth trying if I had a way to plug the nipple. I want something rebuildable like this

If you don't need push-to-connect fittings, airsoldier has barb fittings: https://airsoldier.com/product-categ...bing-fittings/

I might try those Pneumadyne 90 degree fittings. I'd love to ditch push-to-connect. Only question is whether they will fit in the Ion's wells

How about new old stock ones? 10.00 for the set shipped?

Last resort. I think I'm gonna try barbs first and get rid of leaky unserviceable push-to-connect. Thanks

How many might you need? I think I have a bag of them from my tinkering with ions phase

I've been in this boat before, during the pandemic. Sourcing alternatives was so much of a hassle, it was worth paying the stupid amount for used stock banjos. The only part i've needed to replace on any of my banjos, on 2 different Ions, was the o-rings on the threads, and I have more than I need of those. I have, however, only ever needed the 5/32" microline fittings, since the middle one is just as easily replaced with a qev.

Yes, I have a QEV. Do the banjos come apart? I might just need to replace the hose and perhaps fresh, clean cut ends will seal better. It's in the state where there's gas leaking everywhere and it's hard to tell exactly where.

Side note, the Captain O-ring 3x rebuild kit only contains one banjo o-ring, which kinda pissed me off since that's what I wanted to replace most.

Also, who's the brilliant engineer responsible for the internal o-rings on this thing? What a b***** to get out

I'm pretty sure I have a small pile of the 5/32 fittings... if you want 'em I'll dig them out and pop them in the mail au gratis. 🙂
And God turned to Gabriel and said: “I shall create a land called Canada of outstanding natural beauty, with majestic mountains soaring with eagles, sparkling lakes abundant with bass and trout, forests full of elk and moose, and rivers stocked with salmon. I shall make the land rich in oil so the inhabitants prosper and call them Canadians, and they shall be praised as the friendliest of all people.”

“But Lord,” asked Gabriel, “Is this not too generous to these Canadians?”

And God replied, “Just wait and see the neighbors I shall inflict upon them."

Oh you know they didn't design these to be serviceable.

I get all my SP-related tech info from Ydna's site. If it ain't there, I dunno what to tell you. But now I'm curious - might dissect one of my spare middle banjos that no one will ever need again.

I've ordered new hose and some re-buildable banjo barb fittings from ASP. We're gonna see if we can eliminate these plastic-molded aberrations and free ourselves from Smart Parts proprietary nonsense

Thank you to all those offering stock fittings; if this fails, I'll be back lol

Clippard makes fittings that work perfectly.

Oooh. So the UT0-3-PKG can replace the front and rear banjos?

Yes and the UT0-2-PKG replaces the middle fitting.

                      HOWEVER

you will need to replace the orings on the 10-32 bolt with 1.5x3mm orings or they could blow off, especially the middle fitting.

I use these for the front and back banjos when I make mech ions. You need to sand down the bolt head slightly so that the body will sit flush but they work fine otherwise.
