I am finishing up a restoration on an ion xe. Deep cleaned it, replaced all the o-rings, new solenoid armature, and detents. When I pressurize it the bolt goes forward and leaks down the breach. I can force the bolt back then the marker sounds like it cycles and pushes the bolt forward. No leaks from banjo fittings. Reg is at 185 psi. Any insights would be appreciated.

I think the only issues that can cause symptoms you're describing are either a leaking bolt sail or leaking solenoid armature.
Are you able to check if the solenoid armature is leaking from the bottom of the solenoid?
If you have a dual tail oring bolt, you can also check for a leak out the front of the bolt (while it's sitting in the forward position) which would tell you if the bolt sail or front body oring is leaking. If you have a single tail oring bolt, it would be hard to tell, since constant air would be coming from the tail area already.
Good reference if you don't already have it: https://www.zdspb.com/tech/mguide/io...dy_design.html

Currently having a similar issue with 2 of my ions.....might also want to make sure the solenoid clip is not magnetized as I hear that could cause it too.

What's the reg pressure at? If it's too low I've had a similar issue

Might want to try a little higher just to see but I doubt that's your issue

Im going to try a different armature as well. It's almost like the noid is going in reverse. I've already re-replaced bolt and body o-rings. The issue im having is that there is no good diagrams/videos of the xe body style. Feedneck isn't threaded if that helps.

Also if you have a standard Ion solenoid coil your ion may not shoot when you go above 185psi. You will need a board with a. epiphany solenoid coil to shoot at that pressure.

Sooooo.....amazon sent me the wrong size o-ring. They sent me 2 x 16mm od instead of 2 x 16mm ID. Getting new ones tomorrow and we shall see.
