    This makes sense I suppose, though a Delrin washer would seem to be a simpler and easier solution. Manually having to adjust that brings me right back to my previous thought of "what an unnecessarily difficult design." 🙃

    In realizing what I played around with on this thing, I'm not even sure it was getting the lubricant in that loosened this up, I think it freed right up when I touched the set screws for the rods, so it was just over-tightened and dragging. I'm sure the lubricant helped, but I don't think it was actually the fix.

      If there's any corrosion on the rods, you'll need to pull them. Oil alone will only help a little.

        The rods are definitely corroded, but it's moving freely now so perhaps I'll just keep ignoring it for now. I'll put it in my mental rainy day list to see if I can pull them and clean them to keep the corrosion from getting worse though.

          M2-0.4 threads for the rods. Buy a few 12-16mm lengths. I recently went through my new to me 05 Speed. Wonder why they weren’t made of stainless steel or titanium considering the price and how much moisture they’re exposed to. A little heat and oil may help too, but definitely worth the effort to pull and clean.
