Hi all. This morning, Carter and I were trying to figure out what caused a bizarre problem where the "home" page was blank but if anyone typed in mcarterbrown.com/forum you could get to the forum normally. After doing a bunch of basic things like rebooting the MCB server and doing basic Vbulletin diagnostics, we said "screw it" and just restored to the middle of the night backup, which solved the problem. The unanswered question remains, what caused the problem in the first place... Seeing that the "rollback" solved the problem quickly and with so little brainpower required, we went with it.

Maybe it's a template, or a database table, or a file, or an Apache hiccup, or a MySQL issue, or whatever. Suffice to say, If it happens again we'll have to dig deeper into it but at the moment we're just going to let it ride. Without getting into specifics, the server itself is really robust, locked down, and is using enterprise-grade Linux so save for any potential flaws in vbulletin, we're in pretty good shape otherwise. I suspect it was a software glitch but who knows for sure.

Along these lines, at some point this summer we're going to be doing a vbulletin upgrade which requires some server upgrades, requiring some downtime. Neither Carter nor I are keen on doing this in the middle of the night when most of you are supposed to be asleep, so It'll probably be during the day when we're both at our best (as far as that goes...)

Site went down when I was editing listing 'ccm part out GLOSS' in the misc at 4am adding pictures. Same thing appened last time same time, it might interfere with site update, I got internal server error 500

Hmm, the Pump Gun BST is working just fine for me. I'll keep looking into it though. I've been enjoying it without the side bar, but maybe we can have it for just the main forum page. The new posts can be found under the forum tab and click on new topics.

Pump gun page works, it was funky at the time. I see new topics, which includes recent comments on any post, but it was nice having the section to see brand new posts only

OK, fixed the links so now the first one shows what y'all are asking for and added a second link that shows new posts and replies.

Just figured out the filters (I'm on mobile) and changing to "Date - started post" on descending does the trick.

I’m on safari and the “3 line” option under the banner in the left has search and the forum options below including new posts and new posts and replies as options.

I really like how this is set up, it seems to more optimized and loading quicker thanks Carter

I liked the Sidebar layout better, -when you click on the view more it would display the post content with the photos. The new style is only a list and you need to click on each one to view the content.
