Tap water compared to filtered water using the SodaStream... Palmer's used to sell the adapters for the CO2 tanks that were proprietary to the soda streams. Not sure if he has any in stock or not anymore. I have a big old case of different ones somewhere in my garage. I just not sure what they fit,I never really took the time to do any research.
    If you happen to find something that would let me connect a standard ASA to it and willing to sell let me know

      So I’ve dug in some more and talked to a coworker who has been brewing beer for several years. I have 2 more questions for you all;

      1. Do you suggest a dip tube in the pop bottle and run lower pressure longer or give it the high pressure without the tube and shake for a few seconds?

      2. Does the bulk Co2 cylinder need a dip tube?

        1. What I did was leave some head space in the bottle, squeeze the sides until the water was right at the mouth, then cap it, pressurize, and shake. Not sure how/whether pressure has an impact, could be something to play around with.
        2. No.

          I run 55psi and shake for 30-60 seconds. I agree that squeezing out the headspace helps, but I usually don’t remember to do it. No need to siphon, the name of the game is getting co2 gas contact with as much of your liquid surface as you can.
          Reducing pressure will get less gas into the liquid and reduce the carbonation level. You can play around with pressure, shaking time & technique to dial in to your preference.

            Alright, we took the plunge. I bought a new 5 lb tank from the local gas shop and ordered a reg, line, and necessary fittings to make some bubbly. My wife and I have made wine for years and wanted to step into beer but weren’t ready to chase another hobby. This route covers a good portion of that base as well.

                  Thanks for the link Funsi00!

                  Man, all in I’m at about $200 but no syrups. I learned a valuable lesson with coffee… milk froths like mad when carbonated. It backed all the way up the 5 ft hose. Luckily we have star-san and I picked up a few tricks for cleaning before everything arrived thanks to YouTube.

                  Thank you everyone for all the help!
