    Generational Cars?

Do any of you guys have any cars that will never leave your family if you have a say in it? I am the second owner of a 66 Valient sedan that my great aunt bought new. It's going to be one of my first retirement projects when I get there. (It needs the slant 6 redone, new headliner, some body work and new paint.) But it has never left the family.

Do you have a car that has been passed down... or will be passed down to the next generation... or grandkids?

EDIT: Looks like I need to go take some photos of the old beast.

Yup, my namesake, a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda. Factory ordered by my grandfather, it my grandmother’s only car until she stopped driving. My mom learned to drive on the car. Was fixed up for my wedding in 2010 and I regularly go cruising with my daughters in it. 5 generations of my family have ridden in that car.

Also, Barracudas spawned from earlier Valiants, so our cars are relatives!

My 1963 Galaxie is a car that won't leave. My father bought it in 1985. I was 5 at the time. I learned to work on cars with that car, learned to drive a standard on the car. I know it inside and out and have probably taken out and put back every piece at some point in time. So many good memories of my father connected to the car.

I will be teaching my daughter with the car and someday it will be hers.

I drive it every opportunity i can find. Currently its apart for a rocker panel replacement.

me in 1985 when he bought it.

It isn’t me, oh oh no it isn’t me.
I’m more at home in my Galaxie.”

There is a 98 Geo Prizm that has seen at least 3 generations of drivers in my family, but I dunno if I'd call it a generational car. More like "Holy shit this still runs, give it to the newest driving child"

        68 camaro convertible.
my father picked it up as a project when i was young.
baseball games and general shenanigans growing up.
learned how to work on cars with him.
when i got my own car, i was able to swap out the motor to a non native motor from what i learned with him and that camaro.
it sat for awhile until i was in my mid 20's and i started working on it gain. lots of fun, lots of drive-ins sitting on the hood with our backs on the windshield. the iron SBC keeping our butts warm. lol
now my kids are about as old as my brother and i were when my father got it.

there are pictures of us standing in front of it with our heads barely up to the headlights and wouldnt ya' know; i have pictures of my kids in front of the same car.

now with a house, single income, 2 kids, and just life in general, its been sitting for awhile. once the kids are out of car seats, ill get it going again.

i have a spare vortec 5300 that needs to go in it and i gotta get that TH350 outta there.

My father left me nothing, so I'll be the first generation. I'll keep this Jeep running, even if I have to convert it to electric some day. My baby girl is finally old enough to enjoy riding around with the top down. One day it will be her Jeep.

            For us it's a 1996 318ic BMW

I used to drive it after graduating high school. When I outgrew the car... a decade ago, I parked it in my parent's driveway thinking they'd just sell it since they bought it for me anyway.

Instead, they fixed it up to looking almost new and take it for a spin with the grandkids in the back when the weather is nice. Now my son says he wants it for his first car when he's old enough to drive.

Bought this 340 Duster back in 1990 and I’ve had it since. Made tons of changes over the years to its current form. My son will get this car some years down the road.
