It was too cold for the new tires on the Corvette so my WRX had to fill in for track duty today. It did better than I expected.
Convinced my wife to go too (she ran the GTI next to my WRX).1 Photo

Installed the fuel pump last night and pulled some data. Low pressure, high pressure, and AFRs all look good now. Did get a couple misfires 6200 rpm 18 psi of air. Time for some cooler spark plugs.2 Photos

Good luck. I had to replace one of the sending units in my gas tank on the 335. It was such a pain in the ass. Make sure you use up as much gas as possible before going in there.

It really is a great engine. I’ll be dropping in a stage 2 low pressure fuel pump this weekend. The Walbro 450 should flow plenty for the boost I’ll run.
Then I’m done. Do some worn out suspension bits like bushings etc and just enjoy it.

I love the N54. It's a modernized 2JZ, and can handle serious power. I had an 07 335i and it was amazing. I miss that car. I believe I still have an old Cobb tuner for it kicking around somewhere.
For the fuel system, I believe they made a secondary port injection kit that helps keep the intake valves from gumming up, and of course for mo powa baby. Never got into mine that far though, was running 16psi stage 2 tune. Never wanted to mess with the direct injection on the car either.
I love this platform. I can talk about it for days

I love that motor. I bet that thing is a rocket. I almost bought one of those new when they came out. Is it a manual?

The 135i got major surgery. A local gentleman that used to work for BMW does work out of his garage. He had to drop the drivetrain out of the chassis while replacing turbochargers, oil pan gasket, oil filter housing gasket, valve cover gasket, coolant pump, rear main seal, clutch upgrade, trans fluid, diff fluid, and probably more.
It cost less than what a dealership would charge but still a good chunk of money. I had been planning on most of the work needed, it’s 14 years old now and I had purchased in 2016 for a steal, so not the end of the world.
I still need to upgrade the fuel pump to keep up with 20 psi of air. Should be around 500-550 hp and last another decade.
Seems like bmw’s in-line 6 and trans are super stout, but everything around it has a short lifespan. Oh well, time to enjoy it.1 Photo
