PE 3-way and hAir45 for EMeks, what’s the difference?

Like the title say…what is the difference between the Eclipse 3-way for the Emek and a Deadlywinds hAir 45 valve?

Just tryin’ to edge-u-ma-kate myself on EMeks

The FL 3 way comes apart similarly to the stock valves, but is said to not be quite as light and/or short as hair45, unless you throw in the Inception Designs "Secret Pin". The hair45 is a little more tricky when taking apart, but not too bad. And the pin is smaller/skinnier and more prone to getting bent but I haven't run into issues. If I were in a position to choose, I'd probably get the FL + Secret pin since it comes from PE and the pin is fatter which in my brain = less potential problems. But still can't go wrong with the hair45 and I am happy to keep using mine.

I’ve got a hair and FL + secret pin setup.

if you want bar none the most short pull possible the hair is the way to go, but if the two I’ve got the FL + secret pin in my marker currently. It still gets you a great pull.

Both do the same thing…. Hair 45 is a lil shorter pull. PE valve is supposed to be more reliable. But I have 1000’s of case’s threw my Hair Valve 45 with zero issues. Don’t get the bang switch I have had to fix a lot of those they need more maintenance and the cheap colored orings replaced with standard black bunna. But the Hair 45 and the PE valve are great rock solid reliable and faster then stock valves with a much lighter trigger pull.

Another vote for the hair valve here. I have installed a bunch of both and use the hair on my own marker. No issues, runs great.

If you prefer a snappier trigger get the PE valve. Hair is short and light.

If youre all about that trigger feel, CVO is the way

I've had both valves and I prefer the FL valve overall. I'd estimate that I put 25 cases on the hair valve and so far probably 12 cases on the FL. Occasionally, I had some short stroke issues with the hair valve. Since switching to the FL Valve with Simon's Secret Pin it has been perfect. The feel of the trigger is slightly stiffer with the FL valve but I found that I can still hit the same rate of fire and consistent strings of paint that were possible with the hair. Additionally, the hair valve has a bit of a squeak sound when firing; but the FL valve doesn't share that characteristic I love my Emek even more with the FL valve and can't see myself returning to the hair valve.

My money goes to Colin for the hair valve. It’s his idea. When considering all the legal & patent struggles from 15/20 years ago, he should make the $.

I see the FL + secret pin as a copy of his work.

I remember all of the pneumag hype. I was very happy to see his work finally come to fruition, even if it didn't end up on an Automag.
