the "newer" spyders (with the mate finish) are really as easy as it get to work on.
    Equivalent azodins are even better

I’d keep the Tippmann. As others have said, they’re more likely to work after sitting a while not being used.

I’ll also throw out there that you can sight down the top of a Tippy. Easy to learn for those experienced with firearms.

        I'm another vote for Tippmann.

I feel like spyders CAN be much better guns then Tippmanns. They are much lighter and more comfortable, but straight out of the box in stock configurations, it's not even close, especially if it's an older spyder and you have to deal with the stove pipe straight elbow, that alone would kill it. The damn things always break.

No matter how easy a spyder is to take apart, you will still spend more time fixing it then a 98.

I've spent orders of magnitude more time on tippmanns over the years vs spyders. It's not even close. The clamshell alone has more screws than the whole spyder

Yes it takes longer to take the tippmann apart, but I so rarely have to do so it’s not even close. In my experience spyders breakdown constantly, and don’t work when they’ve been sitting for extended periods of time.

Also to be clear I’m talking about tpi tippmann, pre badge customs and model 98s. I don’t have Mitch love for tippmann USA, they are still decent but lack the robustness of the ogs and break down a lot more. If your gonna keep a 98 make sure it’s 2005 or earlier.

If you tell me you want the AK-47 of paintball guns I would tell you to get a Tippmann. If you tell me that you want sleek, sexy, and fast at the same level going with the Spyder.
