    Pgp: Centerfire bolts

I keep seeing centerfore bolts mentioned for pgp's. What's the difference compared to a 2k pgp speeddemon bolt. And importantly which is better?

I think they had a hole in the middle like most bolt for markers, instead of the rim fire bolt

The centerfire bolts are a bit longer, so they can cover the port and redirect the air through the center of the bolt. Because they are longer, they have a sliding bolt lug to compensate for the extra length. They are also hard to find (NSD2 was working on a batch of these)

Speed Demon bolts for PGPs only locked in place.

The other option is to use a longer P68 Speed Demon, but then you need a new barrel tube with the feed moved forward.

Centerfire setups are arguably softer on paint.

        This guy knows! ☝️

Small side note: They’re also better if you want to run FSRs. The standard PGP bolts tend to damage fins because the air is coming up and not from the back

Yeah definitely. If you chamber an FSR into a stock bolt PGP, the fins sit directly over the port, and it blows a chunk out of them.

Here's a pic from netsurferdude2 showing the space where the sliding lug sled goes on the centerfire bolts. Everything past the double o-ring setup is extra length thay isn't there on the stock bolt.

as others have said, centerline can be easier on brittle paint vs. rimfire, here's a comparison with a general Joe's centerfire on top & cooper-t locking rimfire on the bottom
