Where can I walk on this weekend in Upstate NY/WMass?

I'm looking to show up solo this weekend for the first time after a long hiatus. I was hoping to hit up APE in Albany, but it looks like they're closed until the 1st.
Anyone have any recommendations for other fields within an hour's drive of Troy NY? I prefer woodsball and limited paint pump/magfed games but will play speedball if that's all that's available. I'm mainly just looking for a place that always has a solid walk-on turnout.

Idk how far Agawam is, but Xtreme paintball is fun

Looks like an hour and a half drive. The turnout at Xtreme is good on Sundays.

If you want to hold out, May 1 at APE is Gangs of NY. Looks like they have 4 teams going, all playing on the whole field. It should make for interesting games.

Idk if you've been to APE before but they just cleaned up alot of the field and it's a great place to ball

Agawam is a bit of a hike for me but may still be an option, thanks for the rec. How is the turnout on Saturdays? Still a solid group of players or mostly renters?

I'll be hitting Ape for the event if I can. I was there a couple times in the early teens and remember the woodsball field being great with lots of dense plant cover, not the shitty flat plain with a bunch of garbage in it like a lot of fields.

Saturday’s at Xtreme are Gravity Feed Loaders only. It’s great for playing pump or if you aren’t trying to go too hard. Sunday’s there unfortunately have a lot of players who don’t play by the rules and frankly, would be kicked out of many other fields. It’s my home field and although, I’m happy to have it there it leaves a lot to be desired.

Shake and shoot only sounds fun. What do you mean my "don't play by the rules"? As in cheating and deliberately overshooting, or just getting carried away and ramping their wallets dry?

bobthebot Cheating, Overshooting and in general people taking their frustrations out on the paintball field as opposed to going to have fun playing recreational paintball. They have 1-2 referees for 50+ person games and many people take advantage of that.

Capital Combat Zone is another option and is located in Troy, NY. It’s not bad if people show up. Lot of buildings and bunkers as well as a turf airball field.

I’d say CCZ because it usually has a decent turn out, but that only checks 1 of your 3 boxes…

Selfishly. I’m with JeeperCreeper, hold out until the 1st for APE, it’s always great to meet another MBC-er

Take a ride to MSG paintball. It’s my favorite place to play in the area. They got a bad ass Proshop with all the latest gear. The fields are well maintained. It will be muddy we got hammered with rain recently. But it’s a great place to play. The regular walkons are all super chill and laid back big Magfed following there. The paint I got there a few weeks ago shot awesome! (Get the Graffiti at the proshop) Prices are hard to beat to if you need gear. Definitely worth the drive. I might play Sunday if the weather is decent.

I live about 30 mins south of Troy and make this drive regularly. 100% worth the trip! I have a group of guys I make the trip with (Altamont, Melrose, Halfmoon).

Pro shop is great, Sherry and Pat are awesome and the fields are a blast. They have several fields so you can switch it up.
