    Palmers Typhoon

Hey guys I was directed to this forum from the vintage bst Facebook group so please forgive me if this is the wrong thread. I’m hunting an accurate appraisal on this Palmer typhoon I recently picked up. The only thing I know about it performance wise is that it does leak down the barrel.

thanks in advance and happy thanksgiving!

You want the "Ask the experts" forum for appraisals.
    This one is for sales.

    Good luck!

Not really. This one is for information, how to, and stories about Palmers equipment.

Oh, wait. Did this thread get moved to a more appropriate place?

Hey man, you made it! I'm the one who sent ya this way!

You posted this in the For Sale section, but I'm sure one of the Mods will move it to the appropriate spot for you. (Either "Ask The Experts" or "PPS," I imagine)

For some reason when this dude posted this on Facebook, everyone just started throwing random guesses as to it's make and model and value. It was like a Reddit post. It was very strange. I told him this was the place (along with a few others). So, wow him with your old school prowess friends.

Anytime I have any Palmer's questions, I reach out to Loophole. Although, he is more of a pump guy...

I am not a Palmer's expert, but I have loved every marker of theirs I have had. I have found if it is not working, the value really drops heavily, especially now that they are not taking repair work. However, that doesn't mean this isn't worth much, just that in my opinion it is worth more than you will be able to get.

            Hey thanks

We had a couple fresh rebuilt Typhoons that were sitting for sale between $375-400 with no bites. The last leaking one sold for either $250 or $275 IIRC?

This one does look in pretty good shape. $275 Might be a good starting point. Hell start at $300 and ask OBO see if you have any interest.

I have a better idea for value on the Houndstooth's, Super Stockers and PUGs. So take these numbers with a grain of salt.

There will be many hours of swearing and love put into that by someone. Still kinda miss mine.

Considering the rebuild it will need, and that it will need to be a home job with Palmers on haitus, I'd agree with Loophole.

It will probably sit for a minute until one of us nerds breaks down after a few relaxing bevs and just PM's you [I am susceptible to such things]

She deserves another go at the field, but again thats some work right there.
          Velcor will save us...

This has been my experience with PPS markers too. It's pretty much a love/hate relationship. They're absolutely gorgeous markers with so much charm when they work and a complete pain in the ass to work on when they don't. With PPS out of the picture these days, it's going to take patience and knowledge to get it running well and keep it running. These classics are a real labor of love in more ways than one..

OpusX lol, you hit the nail on the head. I saw it and thought "no way do I have the time for that" then after a bit I sent him a pm, lol. It's a sickness.
