Does anybody happen to know the size of the safety bearing for the pgp? Lost mine years ago, but I'm trying to get my pgp back up and running and would like the safety to work.

Springs! Talk yto me about springs.
My lever walz has my kp3 spring in it right now. It is hard af to rack the hammer. I think its essentially a kp2 parts wise though.
Im looking for the softest hammer spring I can get away with, and I assume I need a valve spring to match. I planned on pulling the spring and ordering something similar with less poundage. But I remembered you guys may have already done the leg work.
Anyone have the spring info for these ( size and strength more than the sheridan part numbers? ) we may as well detail Pgps, P series, and kps for the benefit of us all.
This will allow us all to start springing these more like cockers.Comment

I knew someone was doing some research!!!
I found a few on Mcmaster that are similar to size to my example, but they are 4.75lbs per inch. I am not sure if thats heavier, or lighter than what I have.
Would you be willing to sell me a few valve springs? That part should be absolute. -
Cocker valve springs work with Sheridans... they might need trimming but I've used them (and pulled them out of PPS guns) so I know they work.
Having a mainspring guide pin is pretty important with the rifles, I've found - the spring tends to bunch up and gives a grindy pump stroke without it. My KP feels like butter with the guide.

Well. The spring I have seems to be cut. I intend on putting it back in my kp3 so Ill leave it as it works in that shooter.
It measures 2.675" long, and .290" OD. Its heavy.
I don't know exactly how to measure a spring poundage, but here is a start.Comment

Usually for springs, in my experience, it's similar to thread gauge. You measure the thickness of the steel, and you count the number of coils per inch, and outside diameter. Then you order by the inch. There are a few different coil ends you can choose from, like cut and ground, just cut square. And there are coil types, like square coil (like Automag springs), etc, but those are the basics.Comment

I had this posted elsewhere in this subforum but in the interest of disseminating information I'll post it here.
The metric tube can be used as feedtube but also accepts the thinwall .750 od brass tube listed - with some work they can be combined into a barrel assembly that accepts Freak inserts. It's also worth noting that the resulting assembly is only about .015" larger than a stock Sheridan barrel's OD, so it's possible to use PPS style detents.
