Any experience with mech ion's?

Well, got it put together as per plan and attempted an air up last night. I got leaks to address, but the ions cant seem to get the valves balanced. Or arent getting enough air to the front to hold the bolts back. If I hold the trigger down. The bolts stay forward, giving me a chance to look at leaks. If the trigger isnt held they fire full auto oscilation style.

ill have to change something up later, but you cant blame for trying as the tubing would be clean if this worked like this.

Ill snap a few tonight. Im all for input. And or a lead on T barbs incase my current configuration will never work.

My other thought is I need to use 2x smav3 vqlves to provide sufficient air. Or a cockwr 3 way if the like.

With a single qev I had a weak shot and oddly enough the ion with the qev was slower to fire I assume because it wasnt able to vent both ions.

So now I have it seeming like itll work. Vibe qev on one ion, palmers qev on the other.

Nice! I wonder if running two different manufacturer's qevs will affect anything.

I have a modded stock bolt in one and a sick bolt in the other too so they will shoot a hair differently. The barrels will also be different bores too, as I only have one thin air kit, one will have a smaller bore than the other. But oh well. As long as they are close to each other Im gonna have a blast with this.

It's working, that's the important part... you can always tweak stuff later.

They're super fun to use, I think you'll enjoy it. Love the hopper build, too - very cool.

I have 1 SSC kit with his dual tail bolt in one marker and my girlfriend loves it. It has a very snappy trigger, almost walkable with the way I have it setup at the moment with a return magnet. I'm using the clippard qev and it's around +/-7 fps with the stock ion reg. I have another on the way but this time I'm going to use a superfly bolt. I love this mod almost as much as my main virtue setup.

I have two problems. I have very low and inconsistent velocity and had to shim my ion reg spring to get to 200psi so it would shoot above 260fps. Has anyone seen a problem like this with a mech ion?

I have the 2FG kit.

Also, I seem to have damaged the tee barb fitting. Where order a replacement? I just searched online for a while and can’t seem to find a fitting like the one being used in these kits.

Whats your setup? Stock bolt or aftermarket? Qev/no qev? Last time the reg was rebuilt? Is it an Ion, or are you trying to get an Epiphany firing can to work?

My man with that T fitting link! Ill have 4 mech ions to keep runnijg here. A double bqrrel, qnd 2 regular shooters so I want to get a few T barbs, and Smav-3s in a tacklebox.

Could be a volume issue, or flow. Is the inside of the firing can clean and unrestricted? Good flow through all your hoses and ports? Sometimes lube can get caked into ports and cause restrictions.

200psi is too high on an Ion - but low for an Epiphany, which is why i asked if you had an Epiphany firing can instead of an Ion version. There is a difference despite what Facebook says.

I literally built this ion from a NIB ion that I stripped for working electronics to bring my dynasty ion back to life. So it is not somehow epiphany parts.

I guess I will take it apart and check everything again once I have a new tee union fitting.

If I've insulted you, somehow, well... I've seen far too many Frankenstein builds to assume anything, and you were being a wee bit stingy on the details.

My kit has a stock hollow bolt (it's about 26 grams to the venturini style at 34ish grams), and I'm using a clippard QEV. I'm running consistently at 180psi at 270fps, +/- 7fps. I clean and lube my regulators often. The thing is a beast and with some muscle memory training, I definitely could see walking the trigger. Maybe not like stock but definitely like an old spyder electro. I can't wait to try it out on the field. I usually can't get it out of my girlfriend's hands tho.
