Well now I'm on the fence. Can't say I'm a fan of the printed body. Plastics and pressure just don't have the best reputation long term.

If this were like $50 I probably wouldn't be in the fence, if be trying it, but with only a $20 difference I might prefer the v1. Not sure yet

Eventually, I imagine somebody will 3D model a new body, and we'll all be printing replacements as needed.

In most cases I would agree, but this sits inside a metal frame. The Gmek 3-way valve bolts onto the bottom of the body, and it's sandwiched between two metal brackets in the frame. Even if the 3D printed material starts to fail, those metal parts will reinforce it...like carbon fiber wrapped around an aluminum tank.

Let me make you something. I build pneumags, auto-response frames, and wooden pill cases.

I don't know for sure, but from the picture is looks to be printed, but the design is very much capable of injection molding (rounded edges, drafts, etc). I just don't see any injection marks or relief pin marks on the photo posted by DW (but that could be a printed prototype)

Yeah I still don't care. Call me biased but this thing has what? A few months of testing tops?

Solid aluminum has the entire history of the sport worth of testing behind it.

I'm not in any hurry anyway so I might as well wait for some feedback to come in once people have used them for a while. I'm sure all the unboxing videos will say it's the best thing ever and we should all sell a kidney to get one but I don't really care about first impressions. Long term reliability is more important to me

To be fair, you can run a lot of cycles in a few months with the right setup. We do cycle testing and accelerated age testing for our medical products at work, and it only takes a few months.

Everybody's mad about the plastic trigger part that they're going to put into their plastic Emeks.

Who's plastic Emek? 😋 But you're right, it's probably not that big of a deal. If they had made them in black no one would have cared.

Grip frame is still plastic. And that is a very nice collection, btw.

Plastic sure worked out well for the gog manifolds. That's why we even had someone here machining aluminum replacements and eventually gog started making them with much more metal

I'm sure those went through testing as well, doesn't mean it works out long term.

Granted, I have more faith in ID over gog but there's a reason almost nobody makes plastic solenoids.

I feel like we're just going to end up going in circles, but my 2 enmey's have held up fine.

Hopefully it's good plastic they're using. Some kind of Nylon, or whatever the old Revies were made from.

The actual material and quality of the printer is the key. Think about it, whats the pressure going through this trigger? 200ish Psi? We put way more than that through plastic airlines and fittings NOT designed for the pressures we use them for (Macro).

I think it's even less than that. It's whatever the operating pressure of a gamma core marker is.
