I guess those old systems weren't a screw in type so yeah this is kind of neat. I'm just curious who the actual buyers would be for this. How many people have one gun that will only work with high pressure tanks and another gun that only works with LP tank output and you're constantly switching one tank between them? Tanks aren't the most expensive part of collecting multiple paintball guns so my take on it is most that have multiple guns with differing needs probably have a couple tanks already.
Yeah. Why didn't centerflag dynaflows take off as the new standard? Mine even as a push button on/off (really a pin but still)! Adjustable output between 200-1000psi who doesn't like a all in one product. :

I’m just happy they went back to the pin valve. I switched a lot of mine over to pin valve and started buying Power House.

Looks a little long, which isn't a problem for me. But some might complain

          1. 20+ years ago adjustable tanks ruled the world and many guns did not even have a secondary regulator.
          2. You just adjusted the operating pressure at the tank and ran a gas thru grip.
          3. Then came the use of inline regulators on basically every gun and you were now in "set it and forget it" mode on the hpa tanks.
          4. That took us to hey we can run cheaper tanks...
          5. Those cheaper tanks being direct ASA threads lead to people ditching the prior cradle systems, and then the "drop forwards" that replaced cradles shrank until they went away.
          6. Then guns began running on lower and lower pressures so that standard 800-850psi output was way overkill.
          7. Some manufactures could not build a reliable regulator that could take a sudden burst of 800psi and reliably take it down to less then 200psi so they demanded LP tanks.
          8. 550psi or even less started to become something people wanted so they made tanks that could be adjusted by removing washers.
          9. That is a pain in the ass for people that have a gun that needs 800 and another that needs 500. So people often buy 2 tanks if they have a classic 800psi gun at home.
          10. People that only want one tank for all their markers can now use this... And it will only cost them as much as 2 complete tanks, but they loose having an actual hard backup.

Seems like the problem that actually needs fixed is 7. Manufactures that can not make a reg capable of taking 800psi input down to the desired pressure without having issues. Seems like there is a general distaste for that as solution. Since we have moved to this world of regulators being built into the guns and not replaceable with an aftermarket option that could handle it I guess this is where we are stuck.

My question is how many guns are actually out there that NEED 850psi? Pretty much all electos, mechanical guns, and most newer pumps run sub-400psi. The only place you need an HP reg is an automag, older blowback, and older pumps. Marketing a higher priced adjustable regulator to people who run old guns seems like a bit of a miss. The automag group that needs super high pressure tanks generally know this and just buy an HP tank. The adjustability in addition to the regulators on most guns is just overkill.

The only real adentage is for older gun ... run "hot spring" then drop the operating pressure to shoot at proper field velocity ...

Well Mags especially RTs really benefit from higher input pressure. You can reach insane ROF near 30 BPS with enough input pressure. Granted, that's mostly useless in normal games where ROF is supposed to be limited to 15 or 12 even.

I would love a nice compact reg that could output constant Operating pressure outputs. I would love to mount a lil 9ci direct off the bottom of a cocker body

Ya I ran a blazer with a conquest and a gas thru. It’s just not as consistent as double regging though of course the compromise maybe worth it for the compact rig you’re after.

Deja vu! Ninja is already making this reg but for air rifle guns. I posted about it on the automag part of the forum

Digging around the internet I found this puppy on a airgun website https://airgunheaven.com/en/rti-prie...ator-50-200bar (https://airgunheaven.com/en/rti-priest-externaly-adj-regulator-50-200bar) Has anyone ever used an airgun regulator? There is no closing pin valve on the male ASA end, so unscrewing it from the marker would

Wonder what the +/- output PSI tolerances will be? This would go great on a classic capped automag.

I'm fine with having one tank for just one paintball gun. I usually just run my 68/45 on everything, but I need just one tank with a lower output for my Hammer, only because it shoots hot

I like that they are coming up with new technology, but as people have said, it's been done before.

I'll stick with my old inline Max-Flo's

Ninja flex reg.. externally qdjustable tank regs the next big thing?

I think the title of this post slanted people’s opinion of the produc. Had the title been something more like “Ninja releasing an externally adjustable reg” would’ve had a more positive reaction instead of discussing it as the “Next big thing”.

Fair enough. I never claimed to be good at this forum thing.

I'd use it for a capped classic Automag. Remove the 10oz stainless steel regulator off a classic valve and use this regulator to control the FPS of the gun. Unrelated, you get better output consistency with a regulator when the input pressure is closer to the output pressure. If you suffer from wild FPS then this could help.
